Someone sat down beside Stormheart, his nose told him that it was Lionfang but he looked over at the tom to make sure. He wondered what had made the warrior late to the Gathering but figured it wasn't important and therefore did not ask. He probably got lost on the way over.
"What did I miss?"
Stormheart glanced at Birchstar and Flickerstorm to make sure they would not over hear him, even though the rest of the Clan at the gathering would be able to. " Flickerstorm attempted to fight Batstream. It was broken up quickly but Birchstar didn't punish her in any way. " Stormheart told the tom that had joined the party late and had just missed the first event of the evening. The Deputy new everything was most likely going to go down hill from this point on. It was too soon for a Gathering, and everyone knew it.

Lionfang turned to Stormheart.
'Flickerstorm attempted to fight Batstream. It was broken up quickly but Birchstar didn't punish her in any way.'
His eyes widened slightly and he shook his head, half in disgust and half in disbelief. Birchstar hadn't punished a DustClan cat for breaking the truce? What was the world coming to? He hadn't expected so little of his leader and one of his fellows.
"That is an omen from StarClan then. This Gathering was not meant to be. I'm afraid something even worse may happen, and we shall all feel their wrath. Glory, now I sound like Hawkstar."
Lionfang sighed to the deputy.
"Has Birchstar... been feeling alright lately, Stormheart?"

"T-thank you, Acornpaw. But when we have to speak do you... do you think that we'll attacked like that MarshCln she-cat apparently was earlier tonight?"
Acornpaw shook her head slightly. "That would displease StarClan, no cat would want to go against them. Even if Flickerstorm did earlier against that MarshClan she-cat, none of the others would dare do it."
She meowed gently, touching her friend's shoulder with her nose to try and comfort her. "And besides, if anyone does dare try and attack you, you have us here to protect you." She added, slightly grimly, flexing her claws. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"That is an omen from StarClan then. This Gathering was not meant to be. I'm afraid something even worse may happen, and we shall all feel their wrath. Glory, now I sound like Hawkstar."
Stormheart wondered what was going through Hawkstar's head. What would have made him believe StarClan would punish MarshClan if DustClan had made a mistake, would it not have made more sense for them to just punish DustClan? Something had made him believe that their Warrior Ancestors wanted blood to be shed and lives to be lost. That was not something he had learn about StarClan, they were supposed to help avoid battles; they were supposed to keep the peace! He was glad to be in DustClan if Hawkstar was really going crazy...
"Has Birchstar... been feeling alright lately, Stormheart?"
The black tom flipped through his recent memories of Birchstar's behavior. He came up blank, he had not spent that much time again her lately. He had been spending alot of time with his kits since they had become apprentices. What little time he had spent around Birchstar showed no changes that were drastic enough to draw his attention. She seemed the same to him but maybe she wasn't, what if she had changed and Stormheart had been to preoccupied to notice. "I haven't noticed anything really, but I also haven't been with her as often as I could have."

'I haven't noticed anything really, but I also haven't been with her as often as I could have.'
Lionfang shrugged and did not say anything more for the moment, lost in his own thoughts. He was quite old to be a warrios; too old, some cats said. He had been around for awhile and had been a young warrior when Birchstar had received her nine lives. He also remembered what had happened to the leader before her. Lionfang thought he was able to tell the ominous signsof a leader going downhill.
The lack of responsibility they portrayed, the carelessness, the lack of empathy, the lack of sympathy.... insanity, in some cases. It seemed to him that Birchstar was beginning to walk down that path, and it worried him. He turned back to Stormheart, scrutinizing his features. He thought that Stormheart had expected something, what with Birchstar letting her own daughter break the truce.
"It just seems to me that day after day we slowly lose the leader we had once had. I must tell you, Stormheart, it startles me." He meowed, his crisp tone laced with traces of anxiety.
Nightpaw sighed, her green eyes flickering back down to her paws. There was truth in Acornpaw's words. However she just couldn't help herself. She had been thinking about this night for many days and had played out the situation with many different scenarios. Only two of the twelve had ended without bloodshed or sharp words. Nightpaw sighed. This was karma. She was only getting what she deserved.
"I suppose you're right, Acornpaw. When do you think the Gathering will begin?"

Streampaw trailed in behind Blizzardtail. Her blue eyes were dull with lack of sleep and her silver fur had been hastily groomed at the last moment before the gathering. Her gait lacked the usual bounce in the usually enthusiastic she-cat looked forlorn and depressed.
She had not slept well since the battle, although she hadn't been involved. She couldn't forget how Blizzardtail had not allowed her to help those who were sick and in need. Since then she had been trying hard to communicate with StarClan, however she knew she could not force that kind of thing. Still, she felt abandoned and alone.
She had kept her mouth shut in the days that followed, isolating herself from her clanmates and mentor. Now she slinked away from her Clan at the gathering, she couldn't really stand to here what StarClan was going to allow to happen next. Instead she put herself in a dark and abandoned part of the clearing.
-----------------------------------
Leopardfur walked towards her fellow medicine cat, she had no grudge against Blizzardtail, although it appeared his apprentice did; she watched the small silver she-cat disappear into the shadows.
Her chocolate brown eyes followed Streampaw for a moment, but then they returned to Blizzardtail. "Trouble on the home front?" she mewed quizzically, being honestly curious.
-----------------------------------
Egretpaw watched the PineClan cats pour into the gathering, and couldn't help but agree with Sleetpaw, "They do..." she mewed quietly, afraid of being overheard, "But then again, what do we would like? We got beat as bad as they did..."
She couldn't help but wonder if Redstar was kicking himself for letting Hawkstar attack in PineClan's name. Not only did they lose the fight, but the cat that lead the fight was now known as an insane coot by all the Clans. What did that say about Redstar?

Blizzardtail watched Streampaw walk away through slightly curious eyes. He knew that his apprentice was not happy with him for not allowing her to run head first into the battle, but what could he do about it? Streampaw was a strong minded she-cat, there was no use trying to persuade her that he was right for shielding her, she would rebuff the attempt. Shaking his head slightly, he turned towards a new voice.
"Trouble on the home front?"
Blizzardtail smiled a greeting at Leopardfur. "More apprentice troubles. Streampaw is angry that I didn't allow her to run into the battle immediately."
He meowed, shaking his head again. "She's strong minded that one, stubborn too. It will be both a blessing and a burden in the moons to come." He added with a slight sigh. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Sparrowstar, would you mind sending someone to fetch Birchstar?"
Redstar looked up in surprise at Hawkstar's request. Hawkstar was basically telling the OakClan leader to get Birchstar. Redstar shook his head inwardly at Hawkstar's actions. The tabby was in no position to be requesting things from the other leaders.
"My warriors seem to be busy, Hawkstar. Birchstar will realize that it is time. She is intelligent, you know."
While it wasn't the best way to go about things, the PineClan leader respected the way Sparrowstar stood up for himself and his Clan.
"Yes, I can see that, Sparrowstar. I am not blind. I am also intelligent."
Hawkstar was treading down a very dangerous path. He was already thought to be insane by the other leaders and the majority of the Clans; he wasn't improving his image of himself to them.
Redstar sighed and went to jump down from the mound. "I'll get her." He leapt down from the mound and padded through the throng of warriors towards where the majority of DustClan had gathered. It wasn't hard to find Birchstar; she was sitting next to her daughter, surrounded by her Clan. He ignored the harsh glanced he received from a few of the DustClan warriors and padded directly up to Birchstar. He wasn't on negative terms with the leader. At least, he hoped they weren't.
He dipped his head respectfully at the other leader. "I hope things are well with you, Birchstar." He cleared his throat, not wanting to sound like he was ordering the she-cat around. "Shall we begin the Gathering? I think we can both agree that getting this over with would be best for all the Clans."
He hoped that Birchstar wouldn't take his words the wrong way; he just wanted to leave the Clearing as soon as possible.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"I hope things are well with you, Birchstar. Shall we begin the Gathering? I think we can both agree that getting this over with would be best for all the Clans."
Birchstar dipped her head in response to Redstar. "I am well, thank you Redstar," she mewed warily, wondering why he had come behind the mound to where her and Flickerstorm were sitting. The DustClan leader hadn't realized how quickly time had lapsed, and that both PineClan and OakClan had arrived. Of course PineClan had arrived, Redstar was standign right in front of her her for StarClan's sake! Shaking her head at her frightening memory, she nodded in agreement.
"My apologies. Yes, of course," she meowed, stealing a glance at her daughter before padding out into the openness of the Clearing. Eyeing Hawkstar with utter disgust, she leaped atop a mound opposite of the MarshClan leader, raking the peaty warriors with furious stormy green eyes. She would make sure her Clan would never be buddy-buddy with MarshClan ever again, not after they attacked her Clan while they had done nothing wrong. For all she cared, Hawkstar could rot in the Endless Forest. The immensity of hatred towards the tabby tom couldn't even be fathomed.
Flicking her tail, she nodded towards Sparrowstar, making sure not to be rude to the Clan who had helped her's when no one else would. "Good evening, Sparrowstar," she mewed casually.
"The Gathering will now begin!" she yowled commandingly.

Leopardfur nodded at Blizzardtail's response, young cats always caused no end of trouble. Sooner or later Streampaw would have to understand that she was to be there for her Clan only unless she was asked to help. Even then she'd have to have her leader's permission.
"Her passion will lead her to be a great medicine cat someday," she mewed, "I am sure she learns much from you and will accept her place in time." While she had ideas on the matter, she did not want to seem as if she was lecturing Blizzardtail on being a mentor. Tensions between all Clans were high, and even though OakClan and DustClan were friends at the moment, she knew the slightest spark could break the fragile peace they held.
She looked up as Birchstar bounded up and announced the beginning of the Gathering. She's being awfully commanding now, she thought with a tad bit of annoyance, why couldn't she have been like that earlier with Flickerstorm? She sighed, as the Gathering progressed it became more and more evident that she and Birchstar needed to have a little chat.
ooc: That was a fail post -.- I apologize :(

"Her passion will lead her to be a great medicine cat someday, I am sure she learns much from you and will accept her place in time."
Blizzardtail flicked his ears slightly and smiled. "They all do eventually. Though one can hope that they learn sooner rather than later. Streampaw is nearly due to recieve her full medicine cat name; I do hope that she leans that lesson quickly though it will take guidance on my part."
He meowed, and his eyes darkened slightly. "I just pray to StarClan that I can stay with her to guide her until she is perfectly ready to take my place." He meowed more quietly, looking around the clearing. "The Gathering will now begin!" Blizzardtail flicked his ears again, attention turned now towards the leaders. He was somewhat perturbed with how commanding Birchstar was being, but he didn't voice his opinion. Leopardfur was Birchstar's medicine cat and critisim by him about Birchstar might irritate his fellow medicine cat. He let out a small sigh, his eyes a little clouded. This was a tough time for all the Clans. He did wish that they could all push aside their differences and connect, especially during this chilly leaf-bare, but he knew that it was doubtful. There had always been four Clans and those four Clans had always fought over something. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Sparrowstar glanced at Birchstar, nodding at her appearance. "Hello, Birchstar. Nice to see you." He meowed casually, inwardly sighing when he realized that he was stuck inbetween the two feuding Clan leaders. He really hoped that they would act mature and not get into a fist fight squabble. Taking a step forward, Sparrowstar cleared his throat and began to adress the Clans.
"I do hope that all of you are in as good health as my Clan and that StarClan has smiled down upon your Clan. OakClan has been fortunate during this leaf-bare so far... our prey has not left our territory, nor have we lost our water supply. We have many new kits to be thankful for and our warriors were not affected by the cold as we had worried. OakClan is in good health and (for the most part) in good spirits."
Sparrowstar meowed calmly, trying to keep his voice a little friendlier than a monotone. He was nervous about the other Clans' reractions... Certainly DustClan would be content with OakClan's current situation, but PineClan and MarshClan? That was an all together different story. He took a step back, glancing at the large brown tabby who was larger than himself.
Hawkstar really didn't seem to care, Sparrowstar thoughty with little relief. Even though Hawkstar didn't display any negative emotions, Sparrowstar knew that Hawkstar would do... something (what, Sparrowstar wasn't sure) if Sparrowstar's message angered him. Hawkstar could blow up at any point in time. He was a crazy, ticking timebomb of a madman.
"Er, Hawkstar, if you would like to speak now..." He meowed uncertainly. The other leader merely glanced at Sparrowstar and nodded civilly.
"Very well." Hawkstar responded, taking a step forward to speak to the Clans. Sparrowstar watched him warily.
"MarshClan, I am happy to announce, shares in the favor that StarClan bestowed upon OakClan." Hawkstar began, a mix of a smile and a smirk on his face. "We have had many, many new warriors and apprentices. MarshClan is growing tenfold, and inded we are not only growing in numbers but in strength. Multiple kits run in our nursery, and our territory and prey-count have recovered from the horrible flood that had rampaged through them. " His voice was proud, his stature tall and confident. Sparrowstar stared at Hawkstar, waiting for something that just had to be coming. But to his disbelief, Hawkstar took a step back to signify that he had shared what he had wanted to.
He wasn't going to apologize to DustClan?!
Sparrowstar glanced at Birchstar, his breath stuck in his throat, and then out to the estranged cats in the Clearing. StarClan, Sparrowstar thought, please don't let another battle break out. Oh please no...
Littlestorm shifted uneasily, glancing at the cats who surronded him. Was it almost time? The tension was thick enoguh to cut with a knife and after Hawkstar's bragging about how great MarshClan was, Littlestorm realized that bad things could begin to happen. Stupid Hawkstar! He silently cursed with a sigh.
"Thrush-thrushwhisker, is it almost time? When should we tell them?" He whispered shakily, feeling the fear that was pulsing through him.

"Hello, Birchstar. Nice to see you."
The cream tabby leader twitched her whiskers, shuffling her paws with anticipation. She couldn't wait to begin the Gathering and put MarshClan in their place. But, of course, she would have to wait just a little but longer as Sparrowstar delivered his report.
OakClan is in good health and (for the most part) in good spirits. "Very well. MarshClan, I am happy to announce, shares in the favor that StarClan bestowed upon OakClan. We have had many, many new warriors and apprentices. MarshClan is growing tenfold, and inded we are not only growing in numbers but in strength. Multiple kits run in our nursery, and our territory and prey-count have recovered from the horrible flood that had rampaged through them."
Birchstar flicked her tail dismissively. Since Redstar wasn't speaking and Sparrowstar was glancing at her, she decided it was her turn to speak. As the only female leader in the forest, it was time for her to take charge and prove that her Clan was the strongest in the mountains.
"DustClan has recovered in record-setting time from MarshClan's dishonorable attack," she meowed, stressing the word 'dishonorable' with a venomous stare at Hawkstar. "Though we lost the noble Pantherfoot in the battle, his two sons have recently become warriors. Beechtail and Cougarheart have promising futures in DustClan. Buzzardfang has also been granted warrior status, and Pebblepaw has become an apprentice."
She paused for emphasis.
"Our prey was always plentiful, but it is running especially well, as with the warming moons bestowed upon us," she added, trying to reopen old wounds.
Straightening up, Birchstar continued, "We have taken extra precautions, so we are more than ready for any follow up attacks just in case any Clan thinks they can take advantage of our losses. DustClan will no longer tolerate any sort ambushes. We have doubled our patrols and any cat caught trespassing will be attacked, just like how MarshClan thought we could be attacked for no apparent reason." She fixed Hawkstar with a glare as cold as ice, awaiting him to justify his actions.

Sparrowstar stared at Birchstar in disbelief. Had everyone in the forest gone crazy? Did everyone suddenly think that it was a great idea to insinuate arguments that would lead to battle which would lead to mass destruction and devastation? Imagine if all four leaders and deputies died by some weird coincidence. The four Clans would be thrown into a turmoil that would take such a long time to heal...
Did anyone have common sense anymore? Seriously, did they? Because to Sparrowstar, it really did not seem like it.
He turned to Hawkstar slowly, drudging the look that would undoubtedly be planted firmly on his face. And yes, there it was, as he had predicted itwould be. Hawkstar's expression was a mix of a scowl, a smirk, and what seemed to be the beginning of a battle cry. Sparrowstar had been around long enough to know that that was Hawkstar's "angry" face, and he knew from the very few experiences that it had been used that it meant no good for anyone.
Sparrowstar braced himself for the oncoming bombardment of insults and retorts, but was relieved when a slow, bitter laughter fill its place. No wait, Sparrowstar thought a moment after, that isn't any better.
The Clans waited in silence for a moment as Hawkstar's slow, almost cackling laughter filled the air.
"Hawkstar, what are you laughing at?" Sparrowstar meowed before Birchstar was able to.
The older, larger tabby turned to Sparrowstar, the infamous look wiped from his face. Replacing it was a odd, almost sarcastic, bitter smile.
"Why Sparrowstar, I find it comedic that Birchstar and DustClan are still unable to account for their own actions. Is it not funny? Doesn't it make you chuckle?" Hawkstar said, watching Birchstar as he adressed Sparrowstar.
"No. Not at all, Hawkstar." Sparrowstar replied abruptly.
"Really? Well, I certainly disagree. How can a Clan not realize their own sins?" Hawkstar asked, the smile disappearing. "Perhaps they are already too far gone."
"Who in StarClan's name do you think you are?" A voice yowled out from the back of the Clearing. Lionfang was standing, his violet eyes narrowed and glaring straight at Hawkstar. "Birchstar, forgive me, but I can no longer stay silent. How dare you, Hawkstar, condemn us for something that doesn't even involve us! Do you realize the mess that you have created for the entire forest, how many lives have been lost because of your idiotic decision? Do you really think that StarClan approves of your Clan murdering innocent DustClan cats?" Lionfang yowled, his accusations ringing loud and clear.
"StarClan wanted justice!" Hawkstar fired back.
"Justice? There is no justice in attacking innocents!" Lionfang yowled back.
"Enough! I have a confession!" Littlestorm yowled, raising to his feet, feling the blood from his head rush down to them. Beside him, he heard Nightpaw's heavy breathing as she stood. [/blockquote]

Birchstar sneered at Hawkstar, trying to provoke him into doing something outrageous. She whipped her tail to and fro and lifted her head just a little higher until her eyes glinted in the moonlight. Optics like shards of green ice, she scanned the throng of assembled cats. All she wanted to do was do DustClan justice. And that was exactly she would do.
"Birchstar, forgive me, but I can no longer stay silent."
The creamy brown tabby dipped her head. Lionfang was DustClan's most senior warrior, and he had earned the respect of a lot of cats here tonight throughout the moons of his noble warriorship. "Of course, Lionfang," she meowed. He was one of the few cats she would ever dip her head to.
"How dare you, Hawkstar, condemn us for something that doesn't even involve us! Do you realize the mess that you have created for the entire forest, how many lives have been lost because of your idiotic decision? Do you really think that StarClan approves of your Clan murdering innocent DustClan cats?"
"StarClan wanted justice!"
The DustClan leader bristled until she was almost twice her size. "How dare you talk to my senior warrior like that, you traitor!" she hissed. Straightening up, she continued, "Hawkstar, you are nothing more than a has been. StarClan never told you to do justice. DustClan did absolutely nothing wrong to MarshClan. You became a traitor to your ancestors when you attacked us. Oh, wait. You're ancestors are traitors. You're just like Darkstorm, you miserable piece of fox dung. Nothing more than an ambitious, violent brute! Why not attack PineClan, or OakClan? That's right. Because you're a PineClan cat, not a MarshClan cat. You're blinded by your own ignorance, and I hope you rot in the Endless Forest, you dirty badger."
The she-cat ended her speech with a growl, paying no attention to the puny OakClan warrior. Smoothing down her ruffled fur, Birchstar sat down and eyed Hawkstar like a fox looks at a newborn Clan kit.

Stormheart sat with his Clanmates. He did not know what to say, or think for that matter. He decided it would be best to stay quite. He didn't want the Clans to go at it during the Gathering. He was certain that would be bad.
The tom wasn't comfortable around the other Clans. Is was almost as if he didn't trust them. He was waiting for someone to try to attack one of his Clanmates. He was listening for any thing that might hint a cat was about to spring up and start a fight. He was waiting nervously while he listened to the leaders speak.

Redstar had had enough. From his vantage point, he could easily see the Clans getting restless, could see the uneasiness in the gathered cats' eyes. Drawing in a breath, he stood, letting his voice go with a guttural yowl.
"ENOUGH!"
He stood silent for a moment, waiting for the quiet that descended quickly over the Clans. He kept quiet even after he had the cats' attention before leveling his eyes with the other leaders'. "This event that caused the death of my warriors took a toll on me long before it affected any of you. And I am tired of it. I am tired of tripling the border patrols every single day. I am tired of having three warriors guard our camp every night. We are low on food and high on tension. All of us are. Is it worth it to continue arguing over this? You three are too blind to see that I am no longer torn up about this; I am no longer upset with any of you. I have forgiven you and you have yet to forgive each other. You are too busy arguing to even notice that one of your warriors has asked to speak!"He looked down at Littlestorm, nodding politely at the cat. "StarClan has always taught us to stand for what is right and, when the time comes, to forgive and forget. And that time has come! We need to forgive the past injustices and move on with our lives. Nothing will come from this dwelling on the past!" Redstar sat back on his haunches and wrapped his tail lightly around his paws, glaring at the other leaders, daring them to object.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Birchstar, Birchstar, Birchstar." Hawkstar clucked his tongue, eyes flickering with malice."If you weren't as ignorant and unexperienced as you are, than you would know my story well enough. I was born in MarshClan and grew to become leader, so I did not come from PineClan. I thought that was obvious enough, but I suppose some of us aren't yet on that level of reasoning. Ah, well, I suppose it's no surprise." Hawkstar meowed coolly, keeping an awful smile flat on his terrible face. "And just so you know, those who condemn will be condemned."
After Hawkstar's tirade, Littlestorm looked up at Redstar, his eyes wide, the fur on the back of his neck prickling like sticks. He had never felt so much fear in his life. There before him was Hawkstar and Birchstar battling it out, Sparrowstar glaring daggers down on him, and Redstar saying that he forgave him. Littlestorm looked down at his paws, suddenly unable to meet their gaze. Lord, he was such a coward! Even after causing all of this he stil look Redstar in the eye.
With a gulp Littlestorm forced himself to look up at the merciful tomcat, looking too powerful and all too strong. He opened his mouth for a moment, but the breath caught in the back of his throat.
"My leaders, I s-stand before you and S-starClan h-h-humbly today to beg y-your forgiveness. This e-entire ordeal was my friends' and my f-fault." He managed to stammer out, his voice cracking. Behind him he heard Nightpaw quickly rise to her feet.
"Eh? What's this? Your fault? But how could the wrongs of one group of cats bring such chaos upon all, hmm?" Sparrowstar asked, thought from what he had gathered from Redstar's speech he already knew the anwser. Littlestorm gulped again. This was all so embarrassing.
"You see, Sparrowstar, t-there were foxes on our t-territory and we chased them out and o-on to PineClan territory." Littlestorm tried to explain.
At this moment, Hawkstar sprang into action.
"Thank you, StarClan, for finding our culprit!" He meowed to the sky, before turning his fiery gaze back to the crowd. "Cats of all Clans, let us kill those who have caused us to kill so many!" He announced to the Clans, firmly believing that this was the right thing to do.
"Hawkstar!" Sparrowstar snapped. "Hawkstar, quit being an idiot and spitting out words without thought. We're not going to kill repentive cats who have apologized and seek amends! Redstar forgives them, so why can't you? This isn't even your battle." He hissed, turning on the other leader.
Hawkstar merely glowered back at him in response.
"Redstar, Birchstar, Sparrowstar, ..... Hawkstar, and all cats, please accept my humblest apologies." Littlestorm meowed sadly, casting his gaze to the ground.

"ENOUGH! This event that caused the death of my warriors took a toll on me long before it affected any of you. And I am tired of it. I am tired of tripling the border patrols every single day. Birchstar dragged her gaze from Hawkstar to meet the eyes of Redstar. Of course, there was in truth in the PineClan leader's words. But this wasn't about the battle with the foxes anymore. That fresh-kill had been killed and eaten. This was about DustClan's honor, and MarshClan's injustice.
""Birchstar, Birchstar, Birchstar. If you weren't as ignorant and unexperienced as you are, than you would know my story well enough. Ah, well, I suppose it's no surprise. And just so you know, those who condemn will be condemned."
Birchstar let out an amused mrrow of laughter. "I'm the ignorant one, am I?" she purred. Throwing a stare composed of knives and swords at the tabby tom, she continued, "I never said you weren't born in MarshClan. But you have PineClan blood running through your veins - evil PineClan blood. Darkstorm was a fox-hearted murderer, just like you and your Clan. You have bred nothing but evil warriors who are blinded by what you dare call the 'light of StarClan'. Our warrior ancestors would never condemn DustClan warriors to a battle they did nothing to provoke. It was you and your jealousy that drove this battle. And DustClan warriors will not stand for it. We will have three patrols on that border every day and two every night. Any MarshClan cat that so much sets a whisker over our territory will be killed without question. Do I make myself clear?"
"My leaders, I s-stand before you and S-starClan h-h-humbly today to beg y-your forgiveness. This e-entire ordeal was my friends' and my f-fault."

"You see, Sparrowstar, t-there were foxes on our t-territory and we chased them out and o-on to PineClan territory."
"Thank you, StarClan, for finding our culprit! Cats of all Clans, let us kill those who have caused us to kill so many!"
"Hawkstar, quit being an idiot and spitting out words without thought. We're not going to kill repentive cats who have apologized and seek amends! Redstar forgives them, so why can't you? This isn't even your battle."
"Redstar, Birchstar, Sparrowstar, ..... Hawkstar, and all cats, please accept my humblest apologies."

Sleetpaw tilted her head upwards, wincing as Litterstorm made his shocking revealation. Oh, great. What more trouble could this possibly cause? She scanned the group of OakClan cats, searching for cats who were part of the patrol that drove the foxes out. She saw Nightpaw sitting close to Acornpaw, but it was hard to make out the dark-furred she-cat's expression from the angle she was sitting at. The light silver tabby caught the eye of Gingerpaw, who was looking around as if she expected an Endless Forest cat to seize her up at any moment. Giving the dilute tortoiseshell and sympathetic glance, she turned back to Egretpaw and Doepaw.
"What's going to happen with Hawkstar? He's madder than a hare!" she whispered at her two friends, nervous that a senior warrior may have heard her insult her leader. "Sorry, Doepaw!" Sleetpaw then remembered that Hawkstar was her kin, and slapped her tail across her mouth in embarrassment. Flattening her head against her head, she blinked several times, her tail waving in the air as it betrayed her unease. This Gathering was going terribly, and it's not as if it would get any better. What would the Clans have to do to restore peace?

Pollenpaw pressed her yellow-and-white tabby pelt against Bluestorm's, her green eyes hollow with fear. The little tabby was trembling like a leaf, and she looked as though a mouse would frighten her out of her fur. "Bluestorm, I want to go home!" she mewed sadly, wishing she was curled up with Darkheart back in camp. "This is scary. What if fighting breaks out? We don't have any supplies or..." Her voice ended in a whimper.
The she-cat was still very young, and without a doubt should not have witnessed such a horrible exchange between DustClan and MarshClan. She was glad that Redstar was trying to mediate the situation, but it wasn't doing any good. Birchstar and Hawkstar were two very strong personalities who both had different ways of leading their Clan. Pollenpaw agreed that the attack should never have happened, but Birchstar's threat chillled her to the bone. This was a stupid, worthless war that never should have started. "What's going to happen?"
Pollenpaw hated Gatherings. The apprentice felt too vulnerable at them. She liked being in camp, where she could offer words of wisdom to her Clanmates without the fear or knowledge that she was being observed my other Clans. She disliked being around so many catsm feeling distrustful towards them. The only cats should would ever feel comfortable around were her Clanmates and fellow medicien cats. It was an understatement to say that she didn't act like herself at Gatherings. In camp, she was patient, calm, smart, witty, and kind. But in the Clearing, she was anxious, nervous, suspicious, and restless.

Doepaw sighed softly when Sleetpaw insulted her grandfather. Bu she really couldn't blame her fellow apprentice... even though he was her kin, she had also begun to start to question his ways. She wondered quietly if he really was starting to go crazy, like everyone said he was. But if he was going mad, then wouldn't there be other signs? Well yeah, sending your Clan into an almost unnecessary battle wasn't smart, but it wasn't really the factor for psychiatric enprisonment. In Doepaw's opinion, it just meant that Hawkstar had been misled by a message from StarClan. But recently he really had been getting mislead quite a bit...
"It's fine, Sleetpaw." Doepaw meowed in that quiet, unassuming voice of hers. She forced a small smile in Sleetpaw's direction and then turned back to the scene unfolding before them. She timidly looked around and tried to get a good look of Ibispaw. If anything would happen, then maybe he would protect her...
