Inside the OakClan apprentices den, a sleek, dark brown pelt moved among the sleeping cats. The light twitch of a tail, the flick of an ear, and a pretty she-cat sat up in her nest. Blinking open wide yellow eyes, she let out a yawn, showing sharp fangs sticking out from pale pink gums.
Standing easily, the she-cat made her way towards the entrance of the den, careful not to step on any of the tails of her denmates. Upon reaching the entrance, she paused, looking down at her rumpled fur. She couldn't go out into the camp with bits of moss sticking out of her pelt. She looked like a tree.
Sitting, she bent her head down to lap at her thin fur, making it straight and moss free. Her eyes swept critically over her pelt once more, then she stood. She parted the lichen lining that separated the apprentices den from the main clearing with a gentle nose. A nose that was horribly scarred by three long claw marks scraping down it.
She had received those scars in a border fight with MarshClan and wore them proudly. Blizzardtail had said that he was sorry that he could do nothing to make them go away, but she didn't mind. They were a mark of her service to her Clan. Not something to be ashamed of at all.
Upon entering the sleepy camp, she paused a moment, eyes trailing along the flattened patches of grass, long trodden upon by the paws of her Clanmates. This was her home. Her wonderful, growth filled home.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out with a contented sigh, the lithe she-cat padded further into the camp, feeling the warm sunlight filtering through the trees, hit her back and warm her body. Oh how wonderful it felt to feel the warmth of the sun without also feeling the cold air that came along with leaf-bare.
"What a beautiful morning."
She purred to herself, noting that the sky was a pure, bright blue with a few fluffy clouds floating idly around, none touching the blazing golden sun. Turning her head slightly, she considered the fresh-kill pile. It looked to be in good shape, what with the good hunting that came with green-leaf. Though perhaps she should go out this morning as opposed to waiting until the middle of the day when the heat was scorching. Yes, she would do that. Now she just needed to find a warrior to accompany her... or was there a patrol being made? Perhaps she should go peek into the warriors den to see if Goldenclaw was forming one. She padded towards the large den, a prickle of excitement in her paws. She would be moving into that den within a few moons, a full warrior name resting on her shoulders. The thought made her eyes sparkle happily and her tail twitch. For now, she was Acornpaw. Apprentice of OakClan. But soon enough she would be... Acornsomething, a full warrior. Even though she did not know what her warrior name would be, she still felt a tingle of excitement shoot through her at the thought. It was not only the fact that she would be in full of her Clan that excited her. As a warrior, she would be able to take a mate. Perhaps when she was a warrior, she would fall in love. She could imagine the perfect tom, handsome and jovial, sweeping her off of her paws. Granted, with her imagination, the perfect tom was merely a distant dream. Not achievable. She shook her head slightly. She had told herself to stop doing this. To stop working her potential mate up to impossible standards. She would only disappoint herself if she went on like this. Poking her head into the warriors den, she gazed around. It didn't look like there was much going on in here either, just sleeping. Pulling her head back slightly, she gave a little sigh. Perhaps when someone woke up, they would be willing to go out hunting with her. Padding towards the center of the camp, Acornpaw sat and lapped at one paw, drawing it over her ears as she waited. Every few moments, she cast a glance towards the warriors den to see if someone, would emerge. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

The bushes before his nose twitched, leaves shaking as if being pulsed by a soft breeze. Green eyes watched with vague interest, but did not heed the undergrowth much attention. A single paw darted forward from the brush, brown and white, touching the ground before Thrushwhisker's nose. The brown tom felt his lips curl up in a smile, as if he knew the cat hiding in the brush. But he did not. He had never seen such a paw before, had never felt this cat's presence. But it didn't matter; the cat was gone.
A heavy weight bowled into Thrushwhisker, knocking the tom over even as he lay on the ground. He kicked at the form with his back paws, startling himself into wakefulness.
"Seriously, Thrushwhisker, can't you just sleep?"
Thrushwhisker blinked his eyes open, resting on his brother's yellow ones as the brown tom glared at him. "Sorry, Otterclaw," Thrushwhisker murmured, getting to his paws to stretch. "Bad dream."
Otterclaw grunted. "If you have any more of those, I can guarantee you'll sleep like a kit with a single paw swipe. Just remember that."
Smiling fondly at his brother, Thrushwhisker stepped lightly around him, traipsing carefully around the other warriors to exit the den. After the nightmare he had just had, the warrior doubted he would be able to get any sleep.
The morning sun was just breaking over the horizon when Thrushwhisker padded outside, eyes squinting in the light. It took a few heartbeats for his eyes to adjust, but once they did he saw how empty the camp was. Almost completely deserted, the warrior would have guessed all his Clanmates had gone to join StarClan in the night if he hadn't just left the full den.
A pretty brown she-cat sat watching the warriors den with anticipation, the only life in the camp. Thrushwhisker padded over to her, purring lightly. "Morning, Acornpaw," he mewed, touching his tail-tip to her shoulder in a light greeting."How did you sleep?"

"Morning, Acornpaw, how did you sleep?"
Acornpaw looked up from grooming her paw, feeling a tail-tip touch her shoulder. Her eyes rose to meet those of Thrushwhisker. How could she have missed him exiting the warriors den? She had been watching it for what seemed like ages, and the moment she looked away, someone had come out.
"Morning Thrushwhisker!"
She exclaimed, her eyes sparkling brightly. "I slept well, thanks. How about you?" She asked, her tail tip twitching with anticipation. She felt inclined to make small talk before asking him if he would take her out hunting, but she really wanted to get out into the forest. She felt a slight breeze drift lazily over her thin pelt and stretched her shoulders, the first warm air of the cool morning. If they were to go out hunting and not be driven back into the camp by the heat, they would need to leave soon. "Hey Thrushwhisker, would you mind taking me out hunting? I would have gone myself, but my mentor told me not to go out into the forest on my own without their permission." She meowed, unable to stop the words flowing from her mouth. She had meant to wait a bit, not attack the poor tom with the request straight away. But she couldn't taken back words already passed and merely awaited an answer, eyes sparkling hopefully. "Morning Thrushwhisker!" She exclaimed, her eyes sparkling brightly. "I slept well, thanks. How about you?"
Acornpaw's tail twitched lightly as she spoke, and Thrushwhisker replied in kind. "I've had better nights," the tom meowed, glancing up at her. A comfortable silence fell between the two, a warm, soft breeze ruffling their fur as they sat in the camp, waiting for the rest of their Clan to rise from it's slumber.
"Hey Thrushwhisker, would you mind taking me out hunting? I would have gone myself, but my mentor told me not to go out into the forest on my own without their permission." Acornpaw's voice broke the silence, drifting lazily over him and breaking over his ears in soft tones.
He hadn't realized before now how pretty Acornpaw was.
"Sure, that sounds great. We can head towards the abandoned twoleg shed; the hunting is always good there." The brown and white tom stood, stretching widely before leading the way out of the camp, tail twitching behind him.

"I've had better nights,"
Acornpaw tipped her head slightly to one side. She felt inclined to ask why it had not been as good as most, yet at the same time she felt as though it might seem a bit nosy if she asked.
In the end, she decided not to pester him. What if he thought her too nosey and refused to take her out hunting? No, she didn't want to risk it. Instead she let the warm silence claim the air, until she could not hold the question in any longer.
She gazed at the older cat hopefully, blinking large green eyes up at him. 'Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes!' She pleased silently.
"Sure, that sounds great. We can head towards the abandoned twoleg shed; the hunting is always good there."
Acornpaw beamed. "Alright, that sounds great!"
She mewed happily, standing up and padding after the brown tom cat. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
