Osiris sat inside the 'camp' his family inhabited, munching moodily on a mouse he had caught. It was rather fat and juicy, just what he expected from green-leaf prey. His eyes flickered towards the entrance to one of the many roughly hewn dens surrounding the clearing, movement momentarily distracting him.
The flash of a white and black pelt, the twinkle of a bright blue eye. That must be Irkalla, his sister. A moment later the lithe she-cat exited her den and padded towards him, her face blank as it usually was when around... anyone. That is, if she was not fighting them.
"Morning."
She grunted, halting beside him and sitting down, curling her tail around her paws. She pulled a vole from the small heap of prey that had accumulated there, the remnants of their family's excess prey. From her blunt greeting, Osiris took that Irkalla had not slept well. She was always much less pleasant after a restless night. Usually she was rather snappish and rude at worst, but Irkalla without rest... that was not a fun experience. He watched silently as she picked at the pale brown vole, eyes narrowed slightly. "I take it you did not have a smooth sleep last night." He meowed evenly. Sometime he found, it was best to talk his sister out of her moods. It seemed to work the best. Irkalla snorted contemptuously, scraping her long, thick claws through the thin pelt of the vole. "Same stupid nightmare." She spat angrily, her eyes narrowing even more. "Kept me up half the damn night." She growled, the vole now reduced to a bloody, slashed piece of moss-like pile of bones. Osiris let out a small sigh. The nightmare. His sister had told him about it of course, he reckoned he was the only cat she had told. Even though they were not exactly the closest of siblings, the two trusted one another with some things. "I'm sorry to hear that. You should have told me, I know of some kind of herb that seems to induce a dreamless sleep." He told her, recalling hearing about such an herb from a passing cat. Irkalla flicked her ears slightly. "Well, there isn't much that herb can do for me now." She meowed, taking a bite of the shredded piece of prey. She always did seem to like to play with her food. Osiris couldn't understand how she could eat the vole now that it had been torn apart. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Nephthys was still curled up, trying to make up for the sleep she had lost thanks to Irkalla. This was the fifth night in a row that Irkalla had been having nightmares, which didn't help Nephthys sleep any better than her sister. The sound of voices outside caused her to shut her eyes even tighter and growl softly. Oh, what was the use? She wouldn't be able to get back to sleep now that her sibling's had so kindly woken her up. She slowly rose up, arching her back and streaching her legs before letting out an enormous yawn.
She walked the rest of the way out of the den and spotted Osiris and Irkalla sitting in the center of the 'camp' around the prey pile.
"I take it you did not have a smooth sleep last night." Her brother said in a cool tone. "Same stupid nightmare." Irkalla spat angrily, her eyes narrowing down. "Kept me up half the damn night."
"I'll say it did. You kept me up half the night too, thrashing about like you were. The pale ginger she cat growled at her sister before shaking her fur clear of any remaining moss. She sauntered over to the fresh-kill pile and nosed through until she was satisfied with a fat wood pigeon and began to tare at it hungrily.
"I'm sorry to hear that. You should have told me, I know of some kind of herb that seems to induce a dreamless sleep." "Maybe an ear or two clawed off will help her sleep... She muttered moodily as she munched on the juicy peice of meat.

"I'll say it did. You kept me up half the night too, thrashing about like you were."
Irkalla looked up at her sister, glaring at her. "If you don't like sleeping in the same den as I do, Nephthys, go sleep somewhere else. There are plenty of other dens you haven't yet tried."
She growled, her claws sinking into the earth. Sometimes her sister made her want to rip away at her long, pale ginger fur. This was one of those times. The stupid she-cat, did she have to patronize Irkalla for something she had no control over? But that had been Nephthys since they were kits. "Maybe an ear or two clawed off will help her sleep..." Irkalla hissed with anger and was about to snarl back a reply then Osiris cut in. "Now now, it's no use fighting among ourselves over such a trivial matter." He meowed easily, his eyes flickering between his two sisters. They had argued like that for as long as he could remember. Granted, he had had his tiffs with Nephthys, but never like Irkalla did. The two seemed to fight all the time, yet seemed to always seek one another out somehow. It was rather odd. She-cats. They were so odd and confusing. Osiris was glad he wasn't one of them. "If you don't like sleeping in the same den as I do, Nephthys, go sleep somewhere else. There are plenty of other dens you haven't yet tried." Irkalla spat, her cold blue eyes staring down Nephthys's identical ones. She was obviously in a pretty bad mood, but when had she ever not? But, that was her sister for you, and despite her bad attitude and extreme moodyness Nephthys still laved her like the sister she was. Osiris too, but she didn't go to him for comfort like Irkalla.
She gave a small snort and responded back to her sister "Well, if your implying that I sleep in Fox's den, I don't think so. Have you ever heard him snoring? I swear, how can Nightingale stand him!" she chuckled, hoping to lighten her sister's mood.
OoC: Hehe, sorry Bex, I couldn't resist. XD

"Well, if your implying that I sleep in Fox's den, I don't think so. Have you ever heard him snoring? I swear, how can Nightingale stand him!"
Irkalla twitched her whiskers slightly, her mood lightening a smidgen at the stab at humor. "Yeah well, he can't be nearly as bad as Osiris."
She meowed, evenly, her maw splitting into a slightly grudging smile as she cast a sidelong look at her brother. Osiris gave a small snort, though it was obvious that the taunt had not phased him at all. After all, it was more harmless banter than anything. "I'm sure I'm not the worst, did mother ever tell you about how bad Ahmose was when he first moved into this camp?" He asked them, his eyes sparkling slightly. "I mean, I she said he wasn't as bad after a while but at the beginning... it was right horrible." He flicked his tail tip over Irkalla's ear, grinning at her. She had always been partial to their uncle, the cat who had taught her everything she knew. Any blow at him was always a sore spot for her, and she never hesitated to lash out if she heard anything against him. He thought it best she know he was just kidding, or it would inflate her more. Irkalla did not reply, a rather sour look spreading into her eyes for a moment. Her grin had flickered but remained as she turned to her sister. "I don't suppose you would like to tell me why you didn't wake me up, when I was apparently tossing and turning endlessly last night?" She asked, a slight frown touching her pretty face. "I mean, if it was bothering you so much." [/blockquote][/blockquote]
