Alright Somewhere in the Night. I, Frosty, have a preposition for you all.
Recently we have had a major decline in activity. We've lost a couple of members, while the rest of us have been slowly visiting less frequently. I am guilty of this myself, being caught up in school and dance. Summer is over and we're now into October. September was a get-back-into-it month when everybody adjusts back into the flow of things. I think school shouldn't be the excuse anymore. We're big girls and boys now, and are perfectly capable of balancing our time.
Now that the problem has been addressed, it's time to propose a solution. I think we should start anew. Cleanse the site and start fresh. No member sweep should take place for at least two months, because we want people to be able to re-activate themselves. Now, by starting anew, I don't mean deleting our beloved site. I think we just need to freshen things up a bit. Members should sweep and maintain and update their characters. We should update our layout, too. Perhaps a member other than Pretzel should take a whack at creating a layout. We should start recruiting on Neopets again. Finally, we should think up a new plot. While the AR plot is a great plot, perhaps we should post pone it until our members can recommit.
This is just a suggestion. Feedback is luffed.
With love, Frosty

Before we start recruiting we HAVE to have commitments from our current members that they will be active. No one here can honestly say they have been, including myself. Only 4 members have posted an actual roleplaying response in October, and one of them is a new member herself!
I just don't think it's fair for us to get new members and bring them to a site that is less than active. I love SitN, and I'm willing to make the commitment, but I think we need at least 5 commitments to get on at least once every two days before we start getting new members.
I'd try the whole layout thing, but I have no idea where to begin and I don't have any of the software (I assume you guys use photoshop).

THIS IS MY APOLOGY POST. Because I feel absolutely horrible for not being on here for so long. School is no longer an excuse for me, volleyball WILL HOPEFULLY be over after this Thursday (I don't expect to get past Sectionals, much less all the way to State) and after that is done I see a huge window of free time opening up for me! Which makes for a very happy Pretzel.
Anyways, I am so very sorry for not being on in so long. I feel awful about it, though I couldn't really help it. I'm not going to explain here because I don't want to give you guys a huge list of excuses. It is what it is.
As for advertising and plots, I think we should actually stick with the AR plot. I mean, sure, we have a lot figured out, but with such an interesting plot, I think we can bring in a ton of new members. Also, new enthusiastic members will want to participate in the plot, meaning we can get a ton of cats to join in AR than just the seven or eight we have now. But that's just my opinion.
(And I don't use Photoshop, Rach. I'm too poor to look at Photoshop, much less own it. D: This is me working with GIMP, Picnik and my limited coding knowledge.)

So everyone here is right. We haven't been trying hard, we have been busy, but now we are going to come back. And we will come back, but we need to try hard to get this done. I agree with Rachel on building on what we already have. We should try to get at least four or five people on here daily before we go advertising again.
As for AR, I think we should do it. I also think that we should just flashforward to it because the current plot never seems to end. I think we should just skip to the Gathering.
Also, what positions do we need now? Kin left, so what of Lexxa? Is she still here or not really? Auden left, so we need a deputy for PineClan. Blue also left, so Hazel is now leader, but is she still active?
Also to be frank, it's still going to be hard for me to get on. I have high school swim practice from 7:30-9:30pm every night of the week, club swim every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-7:00pm, which means that on some days I will be at the pool from 5-10:00pm at night. Yes, I realize that's over twelve hours a week.
But if I'm doing NaNoWriMo this month, I should be on here to. I will have a few spare hours on the weekends and days that aren't Tuesday or Wednesday. So. I'm not promising to be as active as I was over the summer or last year, and I'm certainly not promising to be here every day. But I do promise to try and get on here when I'm able to.

Frosty, I would agree with what you say, but it's easier said then done. Balancing our time. With IB, I barely have time to do much more than do homework, study and have a few minutes with friends. If I could add hours to the day, I would, but it's not possible. The only reason I am on right now is because I'm home sick today, which is probably not good because I'll have to do a butt load of makeup work but oh well.
Once I get into the groove of IB a bit better (it takes a whole lot longer than you would think, trust me), I will try to get on more and help bump the site up again, but as I said before, it's easier said then done.
I like it Petally, very bright.

I feel as if we just need to do a whole-site revamp. Delete inactive members and all their characters, clear up the subplots, open up the available power-positions, get ourselves a new layout, move or inactive threads the whole shebang.
And advertise. Advertise, advertise, advertise. We aren't going to get any further with our dwindling member numbers and we certainly aren't going to be able to "re-open" with just our admin. Yes, everyone's busy but we need to put more of an effort to get on here at least once a week. That's really not asking a lot. I know that I really need to try harder to be on, that I have been super absent lately, but with college applications, campus visits and scholarship apps, I haven't had much free time.
But I now promise to do everything in my power to get on at least once a week, hopefully more.
And maybe we should all try a little bit more, eh?

I can for sure be on at least once a week, with the exception of maybe one week, which would be finals week here in about two weeks. I'll be drowning about that time, but then I have a two month break and will be good to go. Still, only two of my finals should be really tough, and the other hard one is on this coming Monday, before finals week, so I still probably will still be able to get on that week. I thought I'd be busier in college, but I actually have TONS more time.
I can advertise on proboard websites, just give me a banner to post and I'm on it! I also will help with any of the other things you need me for. Just think of me as a personal slave.
I agree that all inactive members need to be deleted and old threads should be moved to the vault, although I'd leave Blue and Kin's accounts because they said they might be back.

I thought that it would be a good idea to let you guys know that I may fall inactive in starting tomorrow for about a week or so. I'm moving so I'm not sure when my computer and the Internet will be back up and running. I move on Wednesday so that will probably be my last day for a bit. I'll be back as soon as I can though, and I wont forget about you guys. I love you all <3 and I definitely miss role playing and talking to you guys.
I agree that we should get rid of all the inactive member's account except for Blue and Kin's. I really hope that they do come back. I'll try to advertise once we all get a little more active. I like the idea of getting a new skin. We also need to finish the MarshClan attack thread, I think that is a major thing as well.

Since Blue and Kin said they may be coming back, I agree with not getting rid of their characters. However, I believe that we should demote their leader characters from their positions. As much as I love Blue and Kin and Birchstar and Sparrowstar, I don't feel like we'd be able to get anywhere without the leaders of OakClan and DustClan. If we are serious about revamping the site, than we need to open up the power positions of people who aren't around right now. If they come back before the official 'reopening' than they are more than welcome to take their positions back. However, if they are still absent than I believe that we should remove their characters from power positions and any major plot roles.
