He shivered. The floor was cold.
Hawkstar stood outside the entrance of his den, observing the bleak, gray winter sky leering over him. It seemed to create a mist of gloom that spread throughout the entire camp. Not to mention that it also made the temperature drop a little bit more, what with it blocking out the sun.
Hawkstar began to make his way through the middle of the camp, stopping himself from flinching with each icy step. The stone camp did nothing to protect the MarshClan cats from the ever dropping temperature.
But good weather or bad, some things had to be done. He leapt onto High Rock.
"Let all MarshClan cats old enough to catch their own prey join me at High Rock for a Clan meeting!" He yowled, smirking to himself as he heard the echo replay his words back to him.
Doepaw practically skidded to a hault infront of High Rock, her blue eyes wide with excitement. She couldn't beleive that her time had finally come, that she was to be made a warrior! It seemed like an all too wonderful dream, and she could barely contain herself!

"Let all MarshClan cats old enough to catch their own prey join me at High Rock for a Clan meeting!"
Redpaw padded into the main camp on silent paws, his ears pricked and his eyes moving up to rest on Hawkstar. The large tabby leader looked powerful and almost forboding standing atop the rock as he did. The echo of his loud call also created an air of creepiness, the way it bounced around then faded slowly.
The red tabby tom shook his head slightly to clear it then padded to join Doepaw. He could not summon the excitement she was showing. He had never been one to show his feelings much.

"Let all MarshClan cats old enough to catch their own prey join me at High Rock for a Clan meeting!"
The words echoed around the cold stone walls of the camp, forcing a shiver down Willowpaw's spine. She was sitting in the Apprentice's den, staring around at it's walls, eyes alight. She was to be made into a warrior today and it was a day she had been looking forward to since her time as a kit. However, as the words resounded in her ears, she couldn't help but feel a shade of trepidation creep over her.
She looked around her den for one last time, her home for the past moons of training. Willowpaw wasn't the kind to get nostalgic, but she couldn't help herself. She was moving from the privacy of the apprentice's den, where she had trained alongside her close friends, to the bustle of the warrior's den, which she would have to share with all the other warriors and Reedstorm. It was nerve racking.
Giving her shoulder one last lick, the gray tabby padded out into the camp. She settled next to Redpaw and Doepaw, eyes subdued next to the others. Doepaw was practically jumping out of her skin with excitement while Redpaw sat stoically beside her. It was one of the main reasons she'd always admired Redpaw; he wasn't the kind to let his emotions get in the way.
"Excited?" she joked lightly, but the attempt was half-hearted. She didn't want things to change.

Ibispaw and Egretpaw were finally speaking again. Perhaps it was their impending warrior ceremonies, or maybe just because the two couldn't hold a grudge on the other for long. Whatever the reason, Egretpaw was happy to be speaking to her brother once again.
The two lay in the apprentice den, their demeanor's both contradicting the other's. Egretpaw white pelt was twitching in anticipation, her tail was swishing back and forth in the dirt, giving her cause to sit up and anxiously groom herself for the 5th time that day. Her emerald eyes glanced nervously around, never staying one place long. Will I be a good warrior? she thought anxiously, Will Hawkstar calm down? Is StarClan happy with my choices? What is coming? These thoughts filled her head, keeping her mind from being at ease.
Ibispaw lay parallel to his sister, however his face showed none of the worry of Egretpaw's. If anything his eyes held smug arrogance and a flash of childish excitement at the thought of becoming a warrior. His whole body looked relaxed, lacking any tension at all. "Stop fidgeting, Egretpaw!" He laughed, "It'll be fi-"
He was cut off by Hawkstar's announcement. With a small smile he stood and licked his shoulder, getting a bit of rogue dirt from invading his pelt. "That'd be us, sis." he mewed, no nervousness getting into his voice.
"Do I look fine? Did I get all the dirt? You look fine! I can't go looking like a peice of crowfood!" Egretpaw fretted before she noticed her brother laughing. "Stop laughing at me Ibispaw! This is serious!" she pouted.
"Don't be," he said with cool reasurance, "Everything is fine. Just breathe. I'd stay and help you, but I got a date!" He quickly touched her shoulder with the tip of his black tail and then rushed from the den.
He found who he was looking for easily enough, Doepaw was standing near Redpaw, whose red pelt stood out among the other cat's. He slipped to her side and mewed a hello and gave her a sweet smile. The smile felt funny on his face, and he detested the corny look that was probably gracing his face. Still, it was necessary for courting the she-cat.
Egretpaw had to laugh at her brother, seeing him moon over a she-cat was something she had never expected. If she had known it was an act for Ibispaw to have a tie to something with power she would have warned Doepaw, however she honestly thought he was being sincere. She padded after him, however she sat with a different clump of apprentices, placing herself next to Willowpaw.
-----------------------------------------------------
Dapplenose pulled herself out of the warrior den, hearing Hawkstar call the Clan together. She was almost sure she knew what this was for. Her apprentice would be receiving his warrior name! She went and sat a safe distance from Redpaw, she always felt as if the tom had always wanted his space, but smiled on him happily.
She had no doubt that Redpaw would serve his Clan well, however she would miss him as her apprentice. After the ceremony she would approach him with congratulations.
Suddenly she felt someone sit next to her, and she looked up at her father's green eyes. "You did good." he mewed to his daughter before licking her shoulder, eyes shining with pride.

Redpaw turned his head slightly to one side as Willowpaw joined he and Doepaw. A slight smile creased his maw when he saw her, but he didn't let himself act as though it meant more than friendship towards the gray tabby she-cat.
"Excited?"
Redpaw flicked his ears slightly. "I suppose, nothing different than what we have been doing normally, is it?"
[/color] He replied, his remark a subtle, veiled critisism of how the mentors in MarshClan hadn't been the best to most of the current apprentices. Of course his own mentor Dapplenose had tried to train him, it was true. It's just that the current state of the Clan wasn't exactly the best for training young cats. He looked around as Egretpaw and Ibispaw joined them, nodding a greeting to the pair of them. The red tabby tom blinked in surprise when Ibispaw meowed a gentle hello and - smiled? Was he smiling? - at Doepaw. Well that was odd, Redpaw had never really considered Ibispaw the type to be interested in a she-cat. Perhaps Doepaw just had that ability to charm him. Inwardly, he was grateful that Ibispaw had apparent feelings for Doepaw and not Willowpaw. 'Not that you have a chance with her anyway.' A voice, ever so similar to his mother's, said towards the back of his mind. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Quillpaw and Sleetpaw bounded into the center of the camp, along with the rest of the Clan. Today was their big ay! It was a turning point in any cat's life, a very significant milestone. Today they would beome full warriors of MarshClan, and the two apprenties were as excited as any of their denmates. Despite Hawkstar's declining mental health, MarshClan would remain strong. They would prove to DustClan, OakClan, and PineClan that just because they lost the battle against DustClan and OakClan didn't mean they weren't still the strongest Clan in the forest.
Soon, MarshClan would be overflowing with warriors. Willowpaw, Egretpaw, Ibispaw, Doepaw, Redpaw, Quillpaw, and Sleetpaw would all become full members of MarshClan. Soon, they'd be having kits of their own and adding to the ranks of their beloved Clan. It was kind of scary, thinking about the future but both Sleetpaw and Quillpaw were both more than ready to face it.

ooc. It's fine, Frosty. Usually my clan meeting posts are even worse. ><
Oh, and to make sure this doesn't take forever, I'm just going to do this all at once. I hope no ones minds...
bic. Doepaw glanced over her shoulder just in time to see Ibispaw skid to hault right beside her. Her heart skipped a beat, and she could feel her face grow hot. And the smile he gave her, right out of the blue... her smile was even larger than his and genuine. She felt her heart flutter, and would have said something to him if Hawkstar had not began to speak. Stupid Hawkstar. Ruining the moment.
"Redpaw, Willowpaw, Sleetpaw, Quillpaw, Egretpaw, Ibispaw, Doepaw, come here." He meowed after the assembled group had quieted down. "Redpaw, you show wisdom beyond your years and have excelled in your training. It is time for you to become a warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Redpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Willowpaw, you already fight and behave as a warrior. It is time for you to become one. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Willowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Sleetpaw, you fought bravely at the Battle of the Openland and have proved your loyalty ten times over. It is time for you to become a warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Sleetpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Quillpaw, you are a brilliant she-cat and quickly mastered your training. You shall become a warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Quillpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Egretpaw, you excelled in your work and have courageously fought for MarshClan, even when death was visibly looming overhead. It is time for you to become a warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Egretpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Ibispaw, you fought valiantly at the Battle of Openland and show spirit. It is time for you to become a... warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Ibispaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"Doepaw, you have a great heart and love for MarshClan. It is time for you to become a warrior. I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Doepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Redpaw bowed his head slightly to Hawkstar. This was, he hoped, going to be taken as a gesture as a respect for the leader, but in truth it was just so he was able to hide the raised eyebrow look he had on his face. Wisdom beyond his years and excelling in training? Well of course, that had been needed. What with the Clan in such a state, the apprentices had pretty much trained themselves.
"I do."
[/color] He meowed, his voice steady. He was almost surpried that it managed to stay that way, along with cut easily through the air as though it were butter. He looked up then, for the first time meeting Hawkstar's eyes. His expression was blank and he fought to conceal all emotion. Thankfully, it worked for he was unable to recall a time before now when he had been able to hide much more than if he was hungry. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Egretpaw exchanged an excited glance with Ibispaw before beaming up at her mentor and leader. All thoughts of Hawkstar's insanity were banished from her mind momentarily. He was going to make her a warrior!
"I do!" she mewed with enthusiasm. She would have gone on, given details of how she would serve her Clan, except she knew the ceremony was too important to speak out of order.
Instead she thought of how Craneheart must be watching from StarClan, and how proud she must be to see her two kits be made warriors.
--------------------------------
Ibispaw looked at his sister, however he didn't share the exact same enthusiasm. He noticed Hawkstar's pause before the warrior, how dare he question Ibispaw's competence!
"I do." he mewed firmly, but lifted his black heads, and held just the right amount of defiance in his eyes as he stared down Hawkstar. He would not be insulted in front of the Clan, not today.

"Willowpaw, you already fight and behave as a warrior. It is time for you to become one." 'Damn right, it is,' Willowpaw thought. 'Lilypelt never trained me. I trained myself. And that was your fault, you useless piece of-' But Hawkstar had continued speaking, cutting her mental tirade off. "I, Hawkstar, leader of MarshClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Willowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
[/s] Since she moment she had become an apprentice, Willowpaw had waited to hear those words. Unwilling to bind herself to him, the gray she-cat dipped her head slightly to the tom, just enough to be considered respectful. Willowpaw ran over his words in her head. He was asking her to commit herself wholeheartedly to him, to the Clan. She didn't trust in Hawkstar as a leader, didn't even trust in him as a cat. She next words she uttered were the hardest words for her to ever speak. "I do." 'But not to you,' she thought. 'I don't pledge myself to you. To my friends and to loyalty and to comradeship. But not to you. Never to you.' She focused her attention on her mother, Speckledheart; the she-cat had been strong but not strong enough. Willowpaw would not follow in her mother's path. She would stick up for herself and stay strong and not let anyone take her for granted. She would be herself, not just some part of a greater whole. She would be a part of the Clan, yes, but more than that she would be something that she could be proud of.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

ooc. Sheeet. Sorry guys, should've replied to this sooner. &shot'd
bic. Sleetpaw and Quillpaw were both trembling, from the tips of their whiskers to the ends of theirs tails. Ebonystar watched as Sleetpaw dug her claws into the ground to steady herself while Quillpaw merely drew in a deep, long breath. The dark gray she-cat watched with sparkling blue eyes as Quillpaw eyed Hawkstar with undisguised admiration. Her daughter looked as though a StarClan cat had blessed the Clan with its presence. Twitching her whiskers, Ebonystar saw how star-struck her kit was when she looked at the leader of MarshClan. Perhaps the black and white she-cat's "friendship" could distract him from his abnormal mentality.
Ebonystar bent her head to lick a few straying hairs from her chest. She looked up and proudly gazed at the two kits who were given a second chance at life. Finally, they would become warriors. But that also meant that Ebonystar's time would be over soon. She herself had been given a second chance as well, when VenomClan failed she had travelled for moons to find new territory. StarClan guided her paws and brought her to MarshClan, where she would bear two kits. Winterfrost, her sister, had guided her through the birth. And soon, she would join Winterfrost in StarClan. It was undeniably true that Ebonystar was aging. But she had lived a good, full life. And yes, she could truly say her time on earth was good and full. Within the next moon or so, she would finally pad the starry path in the sky to her rightfully earned place in the sky.
"I do," the voices of her two youngest daughters snapped Ebonystar back into reality. Swallowing hard, Ebonystar held her head a little higher and straightened up a little more. She figured after all the moons she had endured, she finally deserved to feel pride.

Hawkstar smiled down upon the young apprentices before him. So excited, so loyal, so true to their Clan. Ah yes, MarshClan had certainly been blessed.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Redpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Redwhisker. StarClan honors your morality, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Willowpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Willownose. StarClan honors your valor, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sleetpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Sleetstorm. StarClan honors your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Quillpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Quilltail. StarClan honors your intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Egretpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Egretheart. StarClan honors your loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Ibispaw , from this moment forward you will be known as Ibisclaw. StarClan honors your strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Quillpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Quilltail. StarClan honors your intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
Quilltail's dark blue eyes sparkled with all the stars of the sky. Finally, she was a warrior! She had waited for this moment since she was a tiny kit in the nursery with her sister and Ebonystar. When Hawkstar took his turn to rest his head on hers, she respectfully licked his shoulder. However, she couldn't ignore the swarm of butterflies that floated in her tummy. Letting out a low purr, she waved her tail in anxiety. Quilltail wondered his Hawkstar felt the way she did about him. And now that she was a warrior, maybe they could be together at last.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sleetpaw, from this moment forward you will be known as Sleetstorm. StarClan honors your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MarshClan."
Sleetstorm licked Hawkstar's shoulder briskly. She didn't want to be in her leader's prescense for too long. The tabby tom was not in a mentally stable place at the moment, and because of that, she hated being within three tail lengths of him. Sleetstorm knew this wasn't how a warrior should feel about their leader. Something was very, very wrong in MarshClan and this problem had to be solved soon. Twitching her ears, the pale silver tabby couldn't help but notice Quilltail's obvious infatuation with Hawkstar. Mrrowing in amusement, she turned to the crowd of cats and sought out her mother. Ebonystar looked ready to burst with pride, chanting her daughters' names the loudest of them all. Sleetstorm straightened up a little more, ready to perform her vigil.
