So Cougarheart of DustClan is your stereotypical tomcat, a smooth talking player in a nutshell. To sum it up, he accidentally impregnated Rabbitflower, a she-cat who is not played but later ended up dying. She told him she was expecting kits, which was completely unexpected since she and Cougarheart were only mates for a very short time. The two could not get along and after going for a walk one night to try to sort things out, Rabbitflower fell into an abandoned rabbit warren and suffocated when the dirt fell on top of her. But she managed to have two little she-cats before she died, who were only a few days old when their mother died.
I'm playing Umberkit, a pale brown she-cat, but I'd like for her to have a sister. Is anyone interested? :3
Rabbitflower is a light brown tabby she-cat with a white underbelly and paws. Her eyes were a greenish brown. She was a gentle she-cat but she was also very controlling and liked things her way. She was a fantastic hunter.
Cougarheart is a golden brown tom with gray-blue eyes. His bio is in the Accepted DustClan cats because he's played by me.
Here's the detailed history I typed up for Umberkit's bio: Umberkit was born under unusual circumstances. Her parents were only mates for a very short amount of time, which was during a period before she was born. Rabbitflower was a victim of Cougarheart's smooth, playboy-esque ways, and found herself captivated by the golden tomcat. But he only stayed with her for a short time, quickly moving on to another she-cat named Robinthroat. After Robinthroat was brutally slaughtered in a border skirmish, Rabbitflower told Cougarheart she was pregnant. That was probably the tom's worst nightmare. He was only a young warrior, how could he possibly have a kit? But he would not abandon the unborn baby he was obligated to take care of. Though he didn't love Rabbitflower, Cougarheart loved the life she carried.
Soon, little Umberkit was born to Rabbitflower. The first few days of her existence was absolute hell. The two new parents could not agree on anything. They constantly bickered over how to take care of their only daughter, to the point where Umberkit would be wailing her little head off because her parents were quarreling while she was hungry. It took Cougarheart's mother, Flickerstorm, to step in.
"Rabbitflower, Cougarheart, what are you doing?" Flickerstorm hissed, curling her fluffed up tail around Umberkit. The tricolored she-cat was so furious, bristling to almost twice her size. In the span of her life, Flickerstorm had nursed eight kits and was extremely passionate about being a mother.
The two younger cats shuffled their paws in the moss anxiously, both believing they were right.
"You owe it to your daughter to give her the best life possible," Flickerstorm continued, her eyes two balls of blue fire.
Cougarheart shot Rabbitflower a venomous stare. "It's not my fault I made the mistake of mating with such a useless piece of fox dung," he spat.
"You're such a mouse-heart, you crowfood eating scumbag! I'm her mother-"
"And I'm her father!"
"Enough!" Flickerstorm growled, stepping in betweem Cougarheart and Rabbitflower. "I will look after Umberkit tonight. She can sleep with Kitekit and Fleckit. Both of you are going for a walk to sort this out. And don't come back until you can be proper parents."
That night, Rabbitflower and Cougarheart mutinously padded throughout DustClan territory. They almost sprang at each other multiple times, but then remembered how angry Flickerstorm had been with them - and she'd be even more upset if she'd found out the two had clawed each other. So for the whole night, the dysfunctional couple walked. They patrolled the entire territory, carefully discussing their future. The two decided to make peace, for the sake of Umberkit, who suffered for their mistakes. Rabbitflower would try to be more cooperative, and Cougarheart would try to spend more time in the nursery. Dawn was beginning to bleach the sky, sending milky colored rays to slice through the indigo. The warriors of StarClan were fading with the rising sun. A shriek then pierced the morning silence, awakening the birds and mice. Rabbitflower had stepped into an abandoned warren, and in collapsed under weight. The pale brown she-cat began to fall into the endless vortex of dirt and pebbles, her face twisted into an expression of pure terror. Cougarheart lunged her grab her, but his additional weight just made more of a pit. All the tomcat could do was leap backwards in order to save himself, as Rabbitflower plunged to her death.
Cougarheart made a desperate dash back to camp. He found his mother, daughter, and half-sisters curled up asleep in the nursery. Wild with panic, he awakened Flickerstorm. Slightly cranky, she glared up at him and demanded what he wanted. In a flurry, he explained what had happend. Springing to her paws, the two cats raced to Birchstar's den to explain what had happened. The leader woke the Clan with an alarming yowl. She sent a patrol to investigate the scene and attempt to retrieve Rabbitflower's body, but later that day they returned home saying the warrens were too dangerous to investigate. A vigil was held that night for the queen, and during that time Cougarheart broke the news to Umberkit. She was too young to understand, as she had only opened her eyes a day before.
But as the kit got older, she began to realize she had no mother, like her half-aunts did. Her grandmother nursed her until she weened. Today, Umberkit remains in the nursery. Cougarheart raises her as best as a young, single father can, with the help of Flickerstorm of course. Every night he prays to StarClan, asking Rabbitflower to watch over their daughter and apologizing for not making a great enough effort to save her.
