- Be polite and kind towards everyone. The members of SN are a big, tightly-knit family. Drama isn't cool. If you have a problem with someone, take it up over pm. If someone has been harassing or insulting you for no reason please alert one of the Admin and they will deal with it for you.
- There will be no posting of any profane, vulgar, racist, or explicit content on this site. This goes against Proboard's rules, and just isn't cool guys. It doesn't gain you any respect, and no one wants to have their eyes bleed from reading your post.
- Do not spam on any of the boards, and don't post more than five times in a row. It gets annoying to see the same member posting and posting message after message. If you forget to add something you can always edit your post; no need to take up uneeded space.
- Somewhere in the Night is a literate and advanced role playing site, so please use proper grammar in all posts. We understand if you have trouble spelling(Rebecca is the worst speller on SN)or make a mistake. However please don't post something along the lines of:
"Shrewheart jump along the riverbank cause he wanting a fish to eat after the sun goes down. Spottedfur is walking there too." Chatspeak in the c-box, however, is fine.
- Members must stay active. Members must come onto Somewhere in the Night at least four times a week.
At the end of each month, there will be a member sweep. Any person who does not come onto Somewhere in the Night for two weeks or more (without an absence notice) will be deleted during these sweeps.
Please, please, please do not join if you do not plan on staying active. It's very frustrating for the Admin to see twenty inactive members on their site, and it's very annoying for someone to only come on once and never return.

- Use OOC (Out of Character) and BIC (Back in Character) at all times.
Absolutely no one-line role play posts. All role play posts should have a minimum of four good sentences.
So no, after Shrewheart pours out his thoughts and fears about his mother's death, Spottedfur can't just nod.
- There will be no God-modeling or power-play. I don't think you or your cat has that much power. So make sure if Shrewheart falls off a twenty-foot cliff, he dies after hitting the sharp rock bottom instead of happily trotting away unhurt.
- There is a character limit of four cats per Clan and four cats outside the Clans. Do not complain about the limit, as you have twenty characters at your disposal.
Speaking of limits, there is a strict one on power positions. There can only be two power positions per person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Name your characters traditionally. If you need help on this, please reference Ten's Naming Guide.
Do not make any characters with purple eyes, angel wings, green fur, or anything of that sort. This is a traditional Warriors role play, not a fantasy one.
Please refer to Cat Fancy's Cat Appearances Page if you are unsure of what your cat can look like.
Guests are now unable to veiw the Character Board.
- Yes, here we do use liquid-time. This means that your chracters can be at different places at once. However, there is a limit on this: your character may only be at three different places at one time.
- Do not role play any life-changing events for any of the Clans without all the Staff's permission.
Examples of a life-changing event are floods, fires, epidemics, or droughts.
- There will be no special kittypet or rogue joining any of the clans.
- When your queen is having kits, please do not have her say "I'm expecting!" in one post and then have them be born in the next. Nature works in strange ways, but nothing that strange.
Do not get too graphic before or after the births, because again we don't want to have our eyeballs bleed or site deleted (The former goes against Proboard's rules, obviously) .
- When your character is fighting another, please be fair.
Give the other person a chance to reply before posting something along the lines of
"Spottedpelt smiled smugly as she quickly raked her claws over Shrewheart's flank and leg. Blood was gushing out, and she could see the bone of his leg."
Do not be a Spottedfur.
