ALSO! All photos will be accompanied by a quick description and explanation.
LAKE MICHIGAN: A PANORAMA
This is a picture I took while we were on a bike trip in Door County, which is located in the Peninsula of Wisconsin. Its actually a combination of images, which I stitched together using a photo-stitching program, making a panorama.
I'm not entirely happy with this photo. That is, I think it could look tons better with some editing. But, as it is, this photo has no editing.
FOCUS
We focus on the bad,
Because its easy.
But we should focus on the good,
Because its beautiful.
I am very proud of this photo. It was taken in Washington, D.C., at the Arlington National Cemetary. I took it in eighth grade, on a class trip to D.C.
No edits have been made to this photograph, except for the editing that was done to make the image black and white, with the flowers in color.
A CONCRETE CASTLE
This photo was taken in Germany. It is a picture of the reflection of Neuschwanstein, also known as Cinderella's Castle, in a puddle outside the castle. I very much like this image, simply because of the memories it holds for me. And I thnk its cool.
I believe I did a few color enhancements to this image, though it was a long time ago. But those are the only edits.
PORTRAIT OF A KITTEN
My sister's kitten, Owen playing in a laundry bin. Now he is much older and not nearly as cute, but I still love this picture.

RUDY'S
This photo was taken last year, when I was in Texas over spring break with my friend. Originally, I took it because my friend's dog's name is Rudy, but then I looked back at it and realized I really liked the colors and the image overall.

A SILENT DISASTER
I took this photo a while ago, while on a camping trip with my Girl Scout Troop to Devil's Lake, State Park. We found this raccoon stuck in the dumpster, looking for food, and it was the saddest thing I'd ever seen. It broke my heart to see this little guy stuck in a dumpster. We alerted the park staff and they got him out and put him in the forest, away from people.

A THIEF'S MASK
A snapshot of a different raccoon than the one in the dumpster, though they were taken at the same time. We found him in a tree, in the same picnic area as the first raccoon. But this guy only had half of a tail and wasn't stuck in a dumpster. I caught this picture just as he looked at me. To me, it shows the innocence of an animal that has a very bad reputation.

WALKING THE RAIL
Same park, different trip. This photo was taken last fall, when my school was hosting a bunch of German students from Waldbrol. The girl pictured here is the student that stayed with my family, Caroline. She was walking along the railroad tracks next to the lake when I took this picture.

THE TREE OF LIFE
This photo was also taken at Devil's Lake, State Park, in Wisconsin. (I have many photos from this trip.) I dunno why I like this picture so much.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hey, look, its Caroline again! This was taken also at Devil's Lake, State Park, Wisconsin. Here we see the ever-lovely Caroline taking a picture of the view from a bluff. I also got a picture of a couple of kids fooling around on this same bluff, but I won't post it because its redundant.
No edits have been made to this photograph. It was originally taken in black and white.
A REFLECTION ON LIFE
Taken on the same trip as the previous photos. The model is my dad, sitting on the edge of a bluff, overlooking Devil's Lake as he reflects on his life. (Actually, he's probably thinking about how dumb I am for making him pose for a photograph.)

THE POOL
Also taken on the same trip to Devil's Lake, this is a photograph of a small pool that was carved out of the rock by the water that runs down the bluffs whenever it rains or after the snow melts. This particular pool is along a trail called the Grottos, a very steep and slick set of stairs carved into the side of the bluff. From this pool (though you can't see it) the water runs down a series of miniature waters into other, similar pools.

SUNSET OVER LAKE MICHIGAN
The sun, setting over Lake Michigan. The result is these brilliant colors, bleeding into the sky. This picture was taken on the same bike trip as LAKE MICHIGAN: A PANORAMA. We were driving back to the campsite when we saw this sunset and we just had to stop to take a bunch of pictures.

A FRIENDSHIP OF THREE
Taken on the same bike trip as SUNSET OVER LAKE MICHIGAN. This was on Schoolhouse Beach, on Washington Island. The interesting thing about this beach is that every stone is perfectly smooth and rounded, like the perfect skipping stone.
The models are my sisters (far left - Kassey - and far right - Trina) and their friend, Moira, in the middle. They were sitting on the beach, just looking out over the water (eventually they stared a "who-can-throw-a-rock-the-farthest" contest).

THE SMOKING EARTH
Taken last summer, during the set-up for German Fest on the Summer Fest grounds. It was a hot day and there was a quick five minute rainfall, resulting in the steam that came up from the water as it hit the hot concrete. It was still raining a little bit when I took this picture, which is why there is tiny little raindrops in the photograph.

SOMETIMES, I FLY
Taken last year at Sea World in Texas. A killer whale during the Shamu show, jumping out of the water at a trainer's command.

FOUR ON THE BRIDGE
Okay, I admit it. I did not take this photograph. But I modeled in it! (Second in from the right, third in from the left.) A good friend of the family took this photograph (so the credit goes to MR. HITT) and he's also a professional photographer! But I wanted to include this image anyways, because I love it so much.
No edits have been made to this photograph. All credit belongs to (c) Pat Hitt; Models are (c) Kassey Hoffmann, Trina Hoffmann, Moira Hitt and Rachel Hoffmann.
TOWER ON THE HILL
This photograph was taken in the town of Gruene, Texas, during my spring beak last year. It is an image of the town's watertower at sunset. I really like the colors of this image, and the darknes of the watertower against the sky.

DEVIL'S LAKE: A PANORAMA
Finally, you get to see the entire glory of Devil's Lake, State Park. This is a panorama of the entire lake, taken from the East Bluff, at sunset. In the photo, you can see the West Bluff. There's actually more to the park (a few beaches and picnic areas) but this is the jist of it. The place is beautiful and I love going there.
No edits have been made to this photograph, except for the stitching to make it a panorama.
AND I THINK I WILL END WITH THAT!
But do not dispair! I will post more pictures later on, as I take them, but for now this is it. Farewell!
OH AND PS: PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS!!
