"Be good, Mintkit. I'm going to the Gathering now. Go to sleep, and don't stress out Ashwhisker too much. I'll come see you when I get home, but you might be asleep," Gingerpaw meowed gently, licking the little white she-kit on the forehead.
Mintkit sat in front of the nursery, sadness apparent in her body language. "I want to come though, Gingerpaw," she wailed.
"You're almost an apprentice. Soon you'll be able to come. But not tonight, okay? Now go to sleep, and stay in the nursery," the apprentice mewed.
Mintkit felt Gingerpaw give her another swift lick over her ear before heading off and disappearing through the barrier with the rest of the Gathering patrol. The white-furred kitten's shoulders sunk and stared after the place where the dilute tortoiseshell exited for a good few minutes before turning and walking softly into the nursery.
It took Mintkit a while for her eyes to adjust to the gloom, but she didn't want to see anything anyways. The entire nursery reminded her of Rabbitspots. Her mother's scent still clung to the bramble walls and lingered on the moss. It was just another reminder that her mother wasn't there anymore. Greencough had claimed the queen's life only a week ago, and the pain from her death was still raw.
But since Rabbitspots had died, Gingerpaw had willingly stepped up and had acted like a big sister to little Mintkit. The apprentice wasn't told to look after Mintkit, wasn't forced to, wasn't obligated to. She just did. Gingerpaw didn't want Mintkit to live a lonely life, with her father a being a dead PineClan warrior and her brother nothing more than a distant memory. Mintkit didn't fully understand the situation, so it was a good thing that no cat had brought it up to her. It was her fault, after all, that her mother cheated the warrior code. The white kit loved Gingerpaw like she was kin, and appreciated her intergrity as much as a five moon old kitten could.
Blinking her little eyes, Mintkit looked around for some of the other kits. She didn't want to sleep, she wanted to play! Where were Foxkit and Fallowkit? Or Falconkit, Sprucekit, Hazekit, and Sootkit?

"Be good, Mintkit. I'm going to the Gathering now. Go to sleep, and don't stress out Ashwhisker too much. I'll come see you when I get home, but you might be asleep,"
"I want to come though, Gingerpaw," she wailed.
"You're almost an apprentice. Soon you'll be able to come. But not tonight, okay? Now go to sleep, and stay in the nursery,"
Fallowkit listened to the two she-cats speaking outside the nursery, their voices slightly muffled by the wall that separated her from them. She was glad that her friend had someone like Gingerpaw there for her, what with her mother's recent death.
Fallowkit knew that she would have never gotten through the death of her parents had Foxkit not been there for her. He had been her lifeline, her rock. Gingerpaw was older too, so it was like having a big sister; something Fallowkit had sometimes wished for.
But of course, she had Foxkit which was just as good if not better than a big sister for her. She looked sideways at the reddish orange tom cat, his back rising and falling evenly as he slept.
Her eyes moved back towards the entry of the nursery as Mintkit entered, looking somewhat disheartened. Fallowkit watched her for a momet more then stood up, stretching her legs.
"Hey Mintkit, wanna do something?" She asked, padding towards the white she-kit and yawning slightly after she spoke. She blinked her almond shaped green eyes at her friend, taking in her appearance. It was probably best to distract her from her thoughts right now. What with Rabbitspots's scent still heavy in the den.
"I could wake Foxkit up and we could play tag or hide and seek." She suggested, casting an appraising look towards her sleeping brother. He had been sleeping for a while now, it's not as though he would be too terribly irritated at being awoken. At least she hoped.
"And we could see if Sprucekit or one of the others wants to play too." She added, her eyes moving sideways onto her other friends curled up in their nests.

"Hey Mintkit, wanna do something? I could wake Foxkit up and we could play tag or hide and seek. And we could see if Sprucekit or one of the others wants to play too."
Mintkit forced a smile as Fallowkit approached. She appreciated her friend's good nature very much so, especially in her moment of weakness. Being the happ-ygo-lucky cat she naturally was, Mintkit nodded vigorously, waving her tail with excitement. While she didn't ever want to forget her mother, she did need a distraction from the sadness and the constant reminders that she wasn't ever coming back.
"Okay!" she squeaked.
She looked around the den, trying to push Rabbitspots to the back of her mind. She saw Sprucekit sleeping, curled into a tight ball of earth-colored fur. Mintkit's eyes glittered mischeviously as she stole a glance at Fallowkit before dropping down into a crouch. Sliding forward, smooth as a snake, Mintkit quickly cleared the distance between her and her sleeping friend. Letting out a chirp, she pounced on Sprucekit. The tomkit's dark amber eyes stretched wide as he was awoken from his slumber, a shudder passing through the length of his body.
"Meow-ow-ow!" he shreiked in surprise, rounding on a giggling Mintkit.

"Okay!"
Fallowkit grinned at Mintkit then watched as a mischevious look crept into her eyes. For a moment, Fallowkit wondered what she was planning. Then she saw Mintkit drop into a croutch and stalk towards Sprucekit. She let out a soft giggle and watched the little she-kit creep towards their friend.
"Meow-ow-ow!"
Fallowkit started laughing at Sprucekit's responce, her eyes sparkling with amusment. "That's one way to wake them up."
She giggled, then turned her eyes towards Foxkit. She padded towards the nest in which her brother lay, paused a moment and gave him a sharp poke in the stomach with one paw. The tom kit jolted in his nest and leapt to his paws, his hackles raised and his teeth bared, until he saw his sister standing there giggling at him. "Really Fallowkit, really?" He asked, looking around the den for an explination of his sudden jolt back into conciousness. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Sootkit had been fast asleep. I mean, what else was she supposed to be doing! Suddenly the tumultuous noises reached her ears, hitting her like a wall, and her yellow eyes snapped open. She turned to glare at her brother, and mimicked Foxkit, "Really, Sprucekit?"
She stood, and flicked her tail in a stacatto motion to the side, showing her irritation, although her annoyance lasted only a brief period of time. If she was up, she might as well play. She padded over to Coalkit, somehow the brute had managed to sleep through the racket, and jabbed him in the stomach with her paw. "Come on buddy, it's time to play, and if I didn't wake you up, someone else would have."
Her brother slowly blinked open his dark green eyes, looking into the impatient face of his sister, "Woken up Hazekit yet?" he mumbled, still sleepy. Sootkit shook her head and let out a laugh, "Not like he is going to wake up from all the noise, now is he?" she said with a tang of cruelty. There was no love lost between those two.
Coalkit just shook his head back at his sister and stood up. He walked over to his little brother and nudged him gently, ignoring his sister's hard stare. He didn't say anything, because like Sootkit had pointed out, Hazekit was deaf. He just waited as his brother slowly blinked open his eyes. Finally once he was sure the light blue orbs were staring at him he mewed "Hey man, they're playing a game, wanna join?"
Hazekit nodded, not oblivious to the mean glare of his sister but choosing to ignore it. The small tom greatly appreciated his brother asking him to join, a curtousy he wasn't sure would be afforded to him by any of the other kits. Most seemed to think since he was deaf he was brain dead and too fragile to play with. It was a cruel word for the kit, and most of the time he ended up on his own, or with his mother doting on him.
"Well, now that he's up, what exactly are you guys playing?" Sootkit mewed in an impatient voice. She was vaguely irritated by Hazekit's presence, now they were going to have to play nice unless they wanted an earful from Ashwhisker later on.

"Really, Sprucekit?"
Fallowkit turned her head to see where the new voice had come from. It was Sootkit, newly awoken by the look of her. She sounded adgitated and Fallowkit couldn't understand why it was aimed at Sprucekit, but she didn't wallow in it.
"Morning Sootkit, wanna play something with us?"
She mewed brightly, watching as Sootkit went to wake her other brothers. "Come on buddy, it's time to play, and if I didn't wake you up, someone else would have.""Woken up Hazekit yet?""Not like he is going to wake up from all the noise, now is he?" Fallowkit cast a look towards Foxkit at this remark. Her brother looked somewhat disapproving of Sootkit's tone regarding her deaf brother, but he didn't say anything and turned his head away so she would not see his expression. Foxkit was the last one to want to start a fight of some kind. "Hey man, they're playing a game, wanna join?"Fallowkit smiled slightly at the warmth Coalkit granted his brother. Even if he was deaf, it's not as though he was all that different from the rest. She had even heard that if you were lacking some sence like hearing or sight, all your other senses were a lot sharper. Of course, she didn't know for sure, but it seemed logical. "Well, now that he's up, what exactly are you guys playing?"Foxkit, ignoring Sootkit's hostility towards her brother, shrugged slightly. "We hadn't decided yet. We were going to talk it over and then decide, I think." He meowed, his voice calm and even. He turned his head towards Fallowkit and Mintkit, the creators of this afternoon game. Fallowkit cast a glance towards her white furred friend then turned back to the other kits. "Well I don't know, Foxkit and I played apprentice yesterday so I'd like to do something different... and we got yelled at by Blizzardtail for playing a big game of tag in the camp last week and nearly tripping him up..." She fell silent, thinking. ooc: My first RP post on this website. So, sorry if it's not that great, or I say the wrong cat's name, or miss out a cat's name Dx.
Bic:
Golden fur stirred as bright green eyes open sleepily. The small she-cat's ears turned, catching the noise that was filling the nursery. She narrowed her eyes when she realised that the other kits had woken her up. Grumpily sitting up, Tinykit cast a cold gaze around at her denmates. Mintkit, Fallowkit, Sprucekit, Foxkit, Sootkit, Coalkit and Hazekit. Almost the whole nursery was awake!
Tinykit was in a grumpy mood, and it didn't make it any better that she'd been woken up by her denmates. "Mouse-brains!" came the sharp and cold voice of Tinykit, "You've woken me up with all your racket!"
Tinykit felt someone next to her move. Patchkit. Looking down, she saw the calico's fur move, and the cat's head turned up to look at Tinykit with gray eyes. Tinykit's face softened, and she didn't look so grumpy. "Hey, dont worry about them" Came the soft, calm and sleepy voice of Patchkit. Tinykit said nothing, and instead looked back at the other kits.
Patchkit and Tinykit both had lost their parents at a young age, but that was a while ago. They had both learned to accept that, and had stuck together. They were like sisters, and loved each other dearly.
Patchkit sat up beside Tinykit, staring to groom her friends fur. "Maybe we should go and play with them?" she asked Tinykit, though she knew what the answer would be. Patchkit wasn't too fond of playing either, but it was a good way to pass the time, and it helped for Tinykit to interact with other cats. With a little persuasion, though, Tinykit might come. As long as the kits would let her, that is. This worried her a bit, but she tried to not think about that. As she suspected, her friend shook her head. Patchkit sighed, looking over at the other cats. She knew Tinykit would never leave her side, so if she went over there then maybe she would come too.
Patchkit walked over to the other kits carefully, noticing Tinykit walking with her. As she had guessed, the cat hadn't left her side. "What are you playing?" she asked them curiously. Curiosity was a trait that Patchkit had gotten from her mother.

Ooc:// Don't be so self-concious, it was fine ;-D
Bic://
"Mouse-brains! You've woken me up with all your racket!"
Fallowkit looked towards her den-mate as the irritated little ginger she-cat sat up and glared at them. She flicked her ears, slightly annoyed by how snappy Tinykit was being, but at the same time wanting to ignore it. She was always like this, might as well get used to it.
"Sorry for waking you Tinykit, we didn't mean to." She mewed.
"Hey, don't worry about them."
Patchkit too had woken and she was speaking softly to her friend. Fallowkit felt a tiny stab of irritation at how Patchkit hadn't said anything about Tinykit verbally attacking them for no reason, but it faded rather quickly. Why worry about the small things? It would just cause problems with the she-kits and that's not what Fallowkit wanted.
"Maybe we should go and play with them?"
Fallowkit knew what the answer would be to that. She had never seen Tinykit play with the other kits, she liked to keep to herself and Patchkit most of the time. It would be nice if she would play with them even once though, then maybe they could all be friends.
"What are you playing?"
Fallowkit shrugged slightly. "No idea, we were just trying to decide that. I said that we shouldn't play apprentices because it's getting old and last time we had a big game of tag in the camp, we got told off by Blizzardtail for nearly tripping him up." She mewed.
"Do you have any suggestions as to what we should play, Patchkit, Tinykit?"
Foxkit invited, looking at the two she-kits through curious eyes. The russet tabby tom had never really talked to either though he knew that they were orphans just like Fallowkit and himself. He was just glad that he and his sister weren't as bitter about it as Tinykit was. Even so, perhaps they knew a good game that they could all play. That could create some unity between all the kits. It was always better to be unified than to be disassociated. In his opinion at least. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Sorry for waking you Tinykit, we didn't mean to." Tinykit looked at Fallowkit, her hard glare softening slightly. But only slightly. The ginger she-cat hissed, "That's alright, just-" Patchkit felt a rude remark starting to come from Tinykit, and she nudged her friend, giving her a meaningful stare. Tinykit caught the stare, and the nudge. "Why dont we choose this game now" her voice softened, no longer a hiss.
Tinykit wrapped her tail around her small body, burying her head into Patchkit's soft fur. Fallowkit lost his parents too. I can't let my anger get the best of me, no matter how mouse-brained my denmates might be, thought Tinykit silently.
Patchkit felt remarkably shy as she stood there, not knowing what to play. Her mind raced through the games she'd seen the cats play, then to recent events. "We could play Clans! We could have the battle of OakClan and DuskClan, versus PineClan and MarshClan!" Patchkit's eyes sparkled as her idea came into place. The she-cat looked at the ground. "If you all want to play that, that is" she meowed shyly, starting to groom her friend fur. Tinykit wasn't used to interacting with other kits, and it was showing.

"That's alright, just-"
Fallowkit saw Patchkit give Tinykit a nudge and a meaningful look. Tinykit stopped mid sentence and changed tact.
"Why dont we choose this game now"
Tinykit then buried her face in Patchkit's fur and Fallowkit felt curiosity. She had always wondered why the two seemed so close when they also seemed completely opposite of one another. Patchkit was caring and considerate while Tinykit was rough and rude. She supposed that both must see redeeming qualities in one another, which made her smile slightly. Every cat had a good and a bad side, it was just whether or not they chose to show it.
Fallowkit flicked her ears slightly. She heard her brother ask if Tinykit or Patchkit had any suggestions and looked at the two, waiting for an answer.
"We could play Clans! We could have the battle of OakClan and DuskClan, versus PineClan and MarshClan! If you all want to play that, that is"
Fallowkit blinked, apparently thinking about this suggestion. She then smiled and gave a little wiggle of excitement. "Hey, yeah! That could be fun! Good suggestion Patchkit."
She mewed happily, giving the shy kit a warm smile. She then turned to face her other den-mates. "Foxkit, Mintkit, Sprucekit, Coalkit, Sootkit, Hazekit... what do you think?" She asked. She was aware that she had stalled after saying Hazekit's name... she felt awkward speaking to the deaf tom but at the same time it would have been very rude of her not to mention him. He was there after all, he could see the interaction. Fallowkit didn't know if he could read lips, but if he could at least he would know that she hadn't forgotten about him despite his disability. Perhaps everyone would just think she was letting it sink in. She hoped so, she didn't want to cause any problems within the group. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

As she waited for the she-cat to reply, Patchkit wondered what Fallowkit would say. Maybe she won't like the idea... the calico worried.
"Hey, yeah! That could be fun! Good suggestion Patchkit."
Patchkit breathed a sigh of relief at this and her eyes sparkled, her worries were almost gone. But they still had the others to ask. Maybe they wouldn't like the idea? Maybe... maybe... Patchkit shook these thoughts from her head, focusing on Tinykit next to her. The small cat had straightened herself up, and was looking at the other cats emotionlessly.
"Foxkit, Mintkit, Sprucekit, Coalkit, Sootkit, Hazekit... what do you think?"
Patchkit noticed the pause, and she looked quizzically at the cat. Maybe it had just been a genuine pause? Maybe not. But whatever it was, she hoped the other cats wouldn't question Fallowkit. Tinykit noticed, but knew Patchkit would rather her not say anything. The long furred cat moved her weight from paw-to-paw, hoping she wasn't going to have to play with the mouse-brains that had woken her up. But if Patchkit did, what should she do? Both she-cats looked at the other kits in the nursery, awaiting their answer.

Sootkit didn't really have any feelings on Patchkit and Tinykit, the two usually kept to themselves. Still, they didn't get up in her paws, but they didn't entertain her either. They were always just there, never really interacting with anyone else. Well, they're better than Hazekit... she thought to herself grimly.
"Good idea." she mewed, "I'll either be in DustClan or OakClan." Her voice held a firm authority, there was no way she'd be stuck on the evil team, obviously she was better than that. Her yellow eyes glittered in anticipation, it would be a fun game.
Coalkit nodded in agreement to his sisters words. He wasn't much of a speaker, and was content with pretty much anything. His eyes too had the same look as Sootkit though, anticipation. He stood and shook out his thick gray pelt, giving the impression that he was a tank, rather than the tiny kit he was. "I'm fine with whichever team," he mewed before turning to his brother, "What team you want?"
Hazekit stared back at his brother, his baby-blue eyes unreadable although his mind hissed insults. Stupid. Awful. Mean. While he hadn't heard the pause after his name, he had certainly seen it, the way her eyes held a second of insecurity and worry. Why can't anyone treat me like the rest of them his thoughts cried, I can play, I can do anything they can!
Still, the small kit held his internal turmoil from the surface, he wouldn't let anyone see how much he was bugged. "I'll play." he mewed in his scratchy and rough voice, and he lifted his head, eying all the other kits in case they tried to challenge him. He could do this. He would.

"Good idea. I'll either be in DustClan or OakClan."
Sootkit's firm voice made Fallowkit inwardly roll her eyes. Of course they all wanted to be OakClan cats, who wouldn't want to be one after all? But it was just a game. Surely it might be fun to play another Clan?
"I'm fine with whichever team,"
Fallowkit smiled at Coalkit. He was more reasonable then his sister and she appreciated that.
"What team you want?"
"I'll play."
Fallowkit smiled brightly at the two brothers then looked at her own. "How about you be a DustClan cat, Foxkit?" She suggested and he tipped his head slightly to one side, curious.
"And I'll be evil PineClan!"
She added happily, crouching low to the ground and creeping forward, her eyes narrowed and her fangs bared as she spoke. Foxkit laughed as his sister put a tad too much weight on one paw and nearly fell. Of course she would want to be PineClan, the she-kit loved acting and experienceing different ways of looking at things. The russet tabby tom kit turned to Patchkit, Tinykit, Mintkit and Sprucekit. "Any Clan prefrences?" He asked them, flicking his tail as Fallowkit swatted at it with one paw. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Good idea. I'll either be in DustClan or OakClan."
Patchkit smiled, happy that Sootkit had also liked her suggestion. She stopped a giggle from escaping her mouth when the she-cat said that she only wanted to be on either DustClan or OakClan. It was obvious that they would all rather be on OakClan, but the game also needed the other Clan's in it.
"I'm fine with whichever team, what team you want?"
"I'll play."
Patchkit grew happier still, and she was no longer worried. Even Hazekit wanted to play, which was good. Even if he was deaf, he shouldn't miss out on all the fun and games.
"How about you be a DustClan cat, Foxkit?"
"And I'll be evil PineClan!"
"Any Clan preferences?"
Patchkit smiled at the way the she-cat liked to try different things. Like being 'evil' PineClan. What Clan should I be... Sootkit was either DuskClan or OakClan, Foxkit was DuskClan, Fallowkit was PineClan.
Tinykit looked at Patchkit and meowed, "So, if we're going to have to play, what Clan's are we going to be in?" Tinykit tried to sound bored and like she didn't want to play, but the thought of pretend fighting and versing her den-mates made her excited. The only Clan no one had said they were going to be in was MarshClan with the crazy leader.
"I'll be MarshClan" Tinykit offered. Patchkit was excited! Now her friend was playing, she was looking forward to the game.
"I'll be PineClan!" she meowed, happy that she wasn't versing Tinykit, and happy that she was in the same Clan as Fallowkit. The she-cat had been kind to them, and had let them play. It would be nice if we were all just friends... Sootkit and Hazekit... Tinykit and everyone else in the nursery... But that would take a miracle.

"So, if we're going to have to play, what Clan's are we going to be in?"
Fallowkit heard Tinykit's attempted bored tone, but smiled slightly. She could hear the underlying excitement and she was glad. She had always wanted everyone in the nursery to be good friends. It would make everything so much more fun.
"I'll be MarshClan"
Fallowkit heard Tinykit offer.
"I'll be PineClan!"
Patchkit mewed happily.
Fallowkit padded towards her fellow 'PineClanner' and grinned at her happily. "We are so going to win this! Any other takers for our team?"
She asked, turning to face the other kits with her wide, light green eyes. "Fallowkit, you do know that PineClan and MarshClan lost, don't you?" Foxkit pointed out, a smile twitching at the edge of his mouth. Fallowkit rolled her eyes. "Well yeah, but if they had had Patchkit, Tinykit and I, then they would have won for sure!" She mewed brightly, swatting lightly at her brother's muzzle. Foxkit rolled his eyes playfully, leaning back to avoid Fallowkit's paw. "Fallowkit, if you were in MarshClan or PineClan, the only reason you would have won is because every other cat was laughing at the thought of you attempting to beat them!" He retorted, his eyes sparkling with amusment. Fallowkit croutched to the ground, baring her teeth in mock anger. "You'll eat crowfood for that, Foxkit!" She mewed and leapt forward, ramming into the large russet tabby and falling backwards. She shook her head and peered forward to see that Foxkit had only been moved a few inches backwards. Curse genetics, why couldn't Foxkit be the runt of their litter? "You alright, miss PineClan cat?" Foxkit asked, barely concealing his laughter. Fallowkit stood and gave a little shake to get the moss out of her pelt. "Course I am, I'm hard as a rock!" She mewed brightly and padded back towards Patchkit and Tinykit. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Well yeah, but if they had had Patchkit, Tinykit and I, then they would have won for sure!"
Patchkit grinned. "For sure!" she agreed. Tinykit just rolled her eyes and meowed, "Well then I'm glad they didn't have us, otherwise OakClan would have lost" Patchkit just ignored Tinykit's remark, and instead watched Fallowkit's attempt to knock over Foxkit.
"You alright, miss PineClan cat?"
Course I am, I'm hard as a rock!"
Patchkit smiled at Fallowkit's response. The two cats were good friends, she could tell. Tinykit's reaction to that was different to Patchkit's. She rolled her eyes again at the kit's boastfulness. "Sure you are..." she murmered. Patchkit licked her friend's ear, wishing she didn't voice her thoughts so often. "Come on, you grumpy cat" she joked, "Try to be nice to them. Your going to be playing with them after all' Tinykit snorted, turning her head away from Fallowkit, Foxkit and Patchkit, to look at the other kit's, wondering what position they would play in this game.

Coalkit looked at the teams, and a sudden inspiration hit him. "Hey Hazekit," he mewed happily, "How 'bout we be on MarshClan's team? That way we can show Sootkit and Foxkit how it's done!" Hazekit nodded, his eyes a little bit happier at the idea of showing Sootkit up.
Sootkit's eyes however did not reflect happiness. Coalkit and her were extremely close, and he should be on her team. She glared at Hazekit, but looked away quickly. She was just going to have to beat them both.
She was also a bit unhappy that everyone else had ran to the evil side, not that she would say it. At least she had Foxkit though, he seemed like he would be a good one to have on her side in a fight.
"Well those teams are hardly fair." she mewed, "What, two of us in DustClan and OakClan and five of you in MarshClan and PineClan? Mintkit, Sprucekit, why don't you guys be in either OakClan or DustClan?"
Hazekit hardly counts, she thought in her head We can take them easily...

"Well those teams are hardly fair. What, two of us in DustClan and OakClan and five of you in MarshClan and PineClan? Mintkit, Sprucekit, why don't you guys be in either OakClan or DustClan?"
Mintkit just sat back and listened to Patchkit, TInykit, Foxkit, Fallowkit, Coalkit, and Sootkit go back and forth. She didn't want to play petty games! She wanted to do something really fun! Like go out on a patrol or something! Now that would really be fun!
"You guys do know that most of the Clan went to the Gathering, right?" she mewed mischeviously, her green eyes twinkling. "We can play Clan wars any day but tonight might be the only moon where we can do something really awesome!"
Sprucekit let out a sigh. He had no problem being on team DustClan and play Clan-war or something. But no... Mintkit just had to think of something that would probably get them in trouble. Ashwhisker would get really mad if they did anything reckless, and Littlestorm would probably scold him to no end for not being 'the responsible one'.
He turned his dark amber eyes to his denamtes, curious to see what they thought of whatever Mintkit was implying. The quiet one, Sprucekit merely said nothing and just looked on. He would play with them, but he didn't want to contribute or seem bossy or anything like that. If Hazekit didn't want to do anything either, he would stay with him.

Patchkit pondered on Mintkit's suggestion. It was the gathering... and they may not get caught... But Patchkit didn't want to get into trouble, otherwise that would be embarressing. You wouldn't be the only one getting the blame... the other cats might go too... No, Patchkit! That's wrong! But it would be nice to see what is out there... Patchkit! Just a peek! Her curious side, and her good side clashed, trying to convince Patchkit to either go out, or not to go out.
Tinykit wasn't very curious, but the thought of going out into the forest made her excited. The idea was very mischievious, and it appealed to Tinykit. "I'll come, only if Patchkit does," the ginger cat meowed, pretending to still look bored. She was terrible at concealing her excitment this time, though - she had too much of it inside her. Her eyes lit up with joy, and her bushy tail was swaying in the air - much like a puppy's. Patchkit shrugged, and meowed, "Well... I dont want us all to get in trouble... But... I dont know... Depends if the others want to come" The calico looked at her den-mates, awaiting their answer.

Fallowkit listened to the others debating the teams, a slight smile on her face as Coalkit and Hazekit joined her team. She listened as Sootkit pointed out irritably that the teams were uneven and said that Mintkit and Sprucekit should join her team.
Mintkit looked to consider for a moment, but then a sly smile crept across her face. "You guys do know that most of the Clan went to the Gathering, right? We can play Clan wars any day but tonight might be the only moon where we can do something really awesome!"
Fallowkit froze where she stood. Was Mintkit truly insinuating that they sneak out of the camp to go to the gathering? Did she even know where the gathering was held? True, they knew it was at the clearing but did any of them truly know how to get there?
It was more likely that they would get lost on their way and found themselves at the mercy of another Clan or a fox or a rogue. She began to shake her head slightly then Foxkit stepped forward.
"Hey, that sounds like fun!"
He meowed, his eyes sparkling with adventure. "All we'd have to do is follow the warrior's scents and we'd be right there!" He added, looking around to see if the others thought it was a good idea. His eyes met Fallowkit's and he saw the mingled surprise and anger there. This struck him as somewhat odd. "We would get caught for sure though. And what if we got caught by something other than the warriors? You know very well that foxes have been in our territory and the elders say that a fox always comes back if it's been somewhere before!" Fallowkit snapped, glaring at her brother. "You of all cats should know that it's absolutely mouse-brained to want to sneak out in the dark!" She added, her eyes widening with some fear for her brother. Foxkit was a little disturbed by his sister's words but shook them off. "The patrol didn't leave too long ago, if we are attacked or something they will hear and come running before we are hurt. The worst that could happen is we get caught by our Clan." He told her firmly but she just shook her head. "Fine." She snapped resignedly. "Fine. Put yourself in danger just to catch a few words from the stupid gathering. I'm not going though." She finished firmly, planting herself down and glaring at her brother through somewhat pleading eyes. How could he consider something so mouse-brained? Especially after what had happened to their parents... murdered by a badger while out on a routine hunting trip. This was just more of Foxkit's impulsive nature. He always leapt head first into just about any situation without thinking at all. She on the other hand, always thought through her actions. This, thinking through it, would only end badly for those who chose to go along with it. Fallowkit turned away as Foxkit nudged her lightly with his nose. "It won't end badly, come on Fallowkit, it will all be alright." He meowed quietly, trying to convince his stubborn sister. She merely shook her head slightly and looked imploringly at him. "That's not true. Think about this Foxkit, the chance of everything going smoothly is slim. You don't think before you act Foxkit, and it's due time that you do!" She whispered to him, her voice sharp yet begging him to reconsider. He merely shook his head. Stupid pig-headed tom cat! Fallowkit thought bitterly and turned to face Sprucekit. "You aren't going along with this hare-brained scheme, are you, Sprucekit?" She asked, her eyes wide and imploring. She hoped that the gray tom cat at least would have some sense. She didn't want to stay here alone in the nursery... but she most definately did not want to go skipping through the forest without any thought what so ever. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Hazekit had missed the beginning of the conversation, his eyes had not been focused on Mintkit's lips as she suggested they go to the gathering, so he stared while the other cats talked, trying to pick up what they were chatting about.
"All we'd have to do is follow the warrior's scents and we'd be right there!"
Foxkit's exclamation was finally what allowed the small tom to get back in on the conversation. They wanted to go to the gathering! His fur stood on in, surely StarClan would be upset if kits came, it wasn't the way Clans worked! The Gathering was for warriors and apprentices!
Still, he knew if he chickened out they would draw it back to his hearing. His baby-blue eyes hardened again, and he looked around at the other cats. He knew that Sprucekit would stay with him if he wanted to stay, and Sootkit would mock him. He had no clue what Coalkit would do, sometimes he was on his side, sometimes he was on his sisters. "I'm in." he mewed, agreeing to something for the second time that evening to prove a point.
His sister had been of the mind to go to the gathering, but after hearing her deaf brother's words something changed inside her, although she could not exactly pinpoint why.
"Well I'm not." Sootkit's voice was hard, "It's wrong! Ashwhisker would be so angry, and it isn't right. If kits were meant to be at gatherings then Sparrowstar would have taken us himself and that's a fact. Pull your noses out of your rumps and use your brains. I won't get my apprentice ceremony pushed back for something so dumb."
Hazekit widened his eyes, he had seriously misjudged his sister. He had honestly thought she would be the most into sneaking out of the camp, she always seemed to be adventurous and seeking something new. The camp always seemed to bore her.
Coalkit didn't seem to moved by his brothers courage, or his sisters rant, and replied with a simple "I think it'd be fun."

Fallowkit nodded slightly, glaring at her brother then looking at Sootkit through slightly pleased eyes. "Well at least some cat here is using their brain!"
She snapped, glaring at her brother again. Why in the name of StarClan did he feel the need to go trotting off to the stupid gathering? There would be gatherings in the future. Was sneaking out to one really worth the punishment those who went would face? No. "I think it'd be fun." Fallowkit snorted slightly. "Yeah, lots of fun. If you like being punished by Sparrowstar and having your apprentice ceremony delayed." She mewed, sarchasm dripping from every word like rain. She cast yet another glare towards Foxkit. The large russet tom cat flicked her nose with his tail. "Fallowkit, I'm going. You can throw every filthy look you can muster at me and snap away but it's not going to change anything. You worry too much! Nothing bad is going to happen!" He meowed, attempting to touch his muzzle to her shoulder but she pulled away scowling. "Fine, be that way. But we will see who is right when you get your butt dragged back here by Sparrowstar for breaking the rules." She growled and stalked away from him, into one of the corners of the nursery where she sat down and began to sulk. Foxkit watched her for a moment longer, his eyes torn, but he then shook his head slightly and turned his attention back to the group. He wanted to explore and go to the gathering, it sounded like an opportunity they just couldn't pass up. But at the same time, he wanted to go more to protect those who would go without hesitation. He felt a connection to these kits, they were his friends, and he wasn't going to let anything happen to them. So it was like catching two birds with one leap really; explore the gathering and protect at the same time. Fallowkit just didn't understand. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

ooc: Drama XD But they're not going to stay angry at each other for long. I just couldn't think of a reason for Tinykit to go.
Bic:
Fallowkit's words started to have an effect on Patchkit. Previously, she was curious and the thought of going into the forest had made her excited. Now, though, Patchkit was starting to think about all the horrors of the forest. If a fox - or a badger - saw them, then there would be no hope. Even warriors had trouble trying to survive an attack from badgers and foxes.
At the word 'Gathering' from Sootkit, confusion swarmed over Patchkit. I thought they just wanted to go out into the forest! I didn't realise they wanted to go to the gathering! Patchkit's mind was made up. She didn't want to go running into trouble, when it was obvious that they would get caught. "I think Fallowkit's right. I'm not going." meowed Patchkit firmly. It could be seen in her tone that her mind was made up, and nothing could change it.
Tinykit blinked. Patchkit was staying? This sounded like a fun adventure, but her friend wasn't going, and Tinykit didn't want to stray away from her friend. Patchkit could tell that Tinykit wanted to go, but she meowed softly to the ginger she-cat, "Come on, Tinykit, I dont want to see you get into trouble."
"I wont get in trouble... Well, only a little bit" Tinykit meowed. Patchkit's eye bore into Tinykit's skull, her tail swaying in annoyance. Tinykit eventually said, "Well... a lot, then. But I'll be careful!"
"No!"
"Patchkit!"
"Fine then, go get yourself killed!" Patchkit cried to Tinykit, her fur bristling. Why does she had to be so stubborn? Why can't she just stay here, and out of danger!
Tinykit and Patchkit were on their paws now. Tinykit had a determined expression on her face, and Patchkit's fur was on end. Turning around, Patchkit padded away from Tinykit. Tinykit felt very small. She was on her own, and without Patchkit. Sitting down, she looked at the ground, hoping not too many cat's had watched their argument.

Coalkit watched as different sets of siblings separated and argued, each wanting to make different decisions. He found all of the rants and declarations kind of comical, but didn't want to say it out loud because of the response he was sure he'd get. He could have predicted every kit's response correctly, except for Sootkit. Why was she staying behind, this type of mischief was right up her ally!
"Well guys," he mewed nonchalantly, "Maybe we should get headed out, or the gathering will be over by the time we get there." It was already late, and surely it would take the kits a lot longer to get there than the warriors. Coalkit didn't want to miss anything if he was going to take the risk to get out there.
Sootkit watched Hazekit with narrowed eyes before storming to the corner of the nursery. She wouldn't go along with this insanity, no matter how much she wanted to. It was a good idea until they brought Hazekit in, he was going to get hurt and then they'd all be in trouble for his mess ups. She hissed in frustration.
ooc: Awful awful post. I apologize. A lot. But I really needed to respond. Forgive this one guys?
